Tranquil and at peace with the world sitting in the lush garden surrounding
Pros:

The breakfast menu allowed a choice of dishes from which to pick and choose and not necessarily be subjected to a full monty or a vegan plate. Ashford in the Water is an idyllic location away from the maddening crowds and the nearness of the River Wye was an absolute treat to see the wildlife.

Cons:

I have stayed at this property many times under the previous owner and the refurbished work done since taken over by Rafters has made an immense improvement in all aspects of the hotel

Excellent location. Lovely village.

Cons:

We stayed on a Monday and Tuesday, and the bar and restaurant were closed. We were told about this on booking.

Disappointed by the size and light in the bedroom.
Pros:

Location in a small village next to the river in the village

Cons:

Room 4 was small and dark. Outside the bedroom window was the extractor chimney from the hotel kitchen. This was on and very noisy from very early in the morning and directly affected our ability to sleep in the room.

Not every room has a shower
Pros:

We loved the breakfast, it was all cooked fresh from good quality products. The hotel was in a fabulous location. It was a nice touch having a fresh treat in the room rather than the usual biscuits.

Cons:

Was very disappointed to find that our room did not have a shower (as described in description photographs) only a bath and after a day hiking/falling down the hills we just wanted a shower. Also the only time I don't take a USB adapter (as all hotels nowadays has usb ports in the wall sockets, dont they?) well apparently not! For a hotel with so many Stars we felt it was lacking.

Rafters is a beautiful hotel, 5 star all the way, very professional staff and they made you feel very welcome. My dinner
Pros:

Absolutely everything

Cons:

I never like showers in bath tubs, not sure why hotels do this as it’s very dangerous especially for older people.

Lovely hotel but pricey
Pros:

Lovely location in a beautiful village. Room very nice, great shower and thick fluffy towels.

Cons:

We thought the price of drinks to be extortionate, already a premium price then adding a 12.5% service charge plus 20%vat also added. £13 for a Baileys is a rip off.
Breakfast was hit and miss. The full english was a little dry (no beans) and the black pudding like rock. No toast, however the yoghurt pot was delicious.
