Staff were very friendly, our room was spotless and the grounds were lovely! We would definitely stay again.
We couldn’t fault anything!
Beautiful grounds and great staff
Slightly hot in the room
I would have liked the option not to have had a cooked breakfast. Cooked breakfast was the only option and I would have preferred to have cereal, but was told that this would be an additional cost. Please put granola, fruit and / or porridge on your menue.
In a beautiful setting, the rooms were of an excellent standard and very comfortable. The staff could not have bern more welcoming, helpful and friehdly.
The bar area was not really in keeping with the rest of the building and the car park area is very dirty in rainy weather.
The location, the staff ,the decor and the wonderful breakfast.
I was disturbed by traffic noise unfortunately, but I am a light sleeper ,and I appreciate that is out of anyone's control
Lovely place to stay. Great location and staff were excellent.
Stayed for evening meal which was excellent but rather expensive.
Het personeel was erg hulpvaardig. Mooie locatie, hotel en omgeving.
The staff were so welcoming and attentive- they really made our stay so enjoyable! Beds were super soft. The dinner experience was wonderful and the breakfast was delicious. So close to some gorgeous pubs including one called the stables at Mansal Head. Mansal head is so beautiful and we loved walking around Bakewell too!
Excellent
Shower not suitable for the cubicle
The breakfast was delicious. The location is beautiful. It was good to have Netflix in the room.
Had a bad night's sleep due to noisy plumbing and an uncomfortable bed.
Great location, right by a river and in a picturesque village. Staff were so friendly with just the right level of attentiveness. Food was superb. Try the bramble cocktail!
There was nothing not to like about the property
Breakfast was fine especially for vegetarian choice. However, there was no salmon as they had run out. This was disappointing for my husband.
Our room overlooked the garden, subsequently the roadnoise from the A6 was very intrusive. It was a very warm night and we needed windows open. The fan was helpful but didn’t air the room and we needed to open our windows.
We had had a vey stressful day (family bereavement and needed a quiet peaceful room to relax and unwind, We asked at reception if there was another room we could be moved to and would have paid extra, but unfortunately the hotel was fully booked.
Our stay are Riverside House was absolutely lovely. Our room was very clean and on the 1st floor. They have their own parking which was very helpful too. The location was great as it was near several walking routes. We especially enjoyed walking to Thornbridge Brewery (about a 15-20 minute walk away). The staff were friendly and helpful and overall we really enjoyed our stay.
We were there during a heat wave and although were were given a fan, we were very, very hot at night. We had to sleep with the windows open and woke up to a few bug bites as a result. My partner and I are both vegetarians and although the set up for breakfast was really nice I actually didn't enjoy it the first day there. I felt like perhaps they hadn't had vegetarians stay there for some time because the halloumi was a bit slimy and stringy and the veggie sausage was super dry. The next day we opted for plain toast and eggs. I enjoyed the mini yogurt pot they provided as a breakfast starter but would've preferred a vegan option if possible as I don't do well with milk. This, however, didn't ruin our stay and we would still recommend it to others.
Location good for us, nice village, good breakfast. Excellent staff.
First room we had (room 10) had a leaking toilet cistern which therefore continuously refilled every minute for about 15 seconds all night. Could only get BBC channels in the room, no ITV or Channel 4 or 5 as described in the hotel information folder. There was no problem in changing rooms due to the disturbed night, staff very helpful about the issue. We were moved to room 12. Both rooms had mould around the bath, room 12 bathroom fan inoperative (and crooked mirror). Window handles needed tightening up and significant dust along the top of the wardrobe decorative feature. The only option for dinner was in the category of fine dining which is fine if you don't mind spending large sums of money on dinner (probably £200 for two by the time one has finished). We would suggest the addition of a more budget friendly option should be available in addition to the higher cost option. Generally the above maintenance issues indicate the hotel was not quite up to the mark for a 5 star hotel.
