Beautiful hotel in a lovely old village had a fabulous stay

The location of the hotel was fantastic and the staff were brilliant so friendly

The only thing for us was trying to use the shower as it was not wall mounted, but we managed

Had issues with toilet from day 1, wouldn’t stop flushing, bathroom flooded while we were out due to this, shower leaked, nothing was fixed during our stay as no maintenance staff, no alternative or refund offered, was suggested it was us causing issue!! no staff at site after 6.30pm, bar was closed after that time, breakfast was awful, toast burnt and rock hard, bacon like rubber portions very small, left most of it, staff seemed unaware of issues when clearing the left food from some of the tables, no alternative milks offered. Reading there booklet it was noted that it was incorrect, Garden view nice but noisy A6 road a stones throw away, no lift so not disabled or wheel chair friendly. Restaurant not open most of the week.

Absolutely amazing team
Pros:

The team are absolutely fantastic, always smiling and helpful, above and beyond! Truly blown away by how brilliant they were - from the moment we booked to the moment we left

Cons:

Nothing - oh my breakfast was on normal bread not sour dough; if I have to say something I didn’t like! But, honestly; that’s no issue ;-)

Great staff, lovely place to stay, would consider returning
Pros:

Staff were great, kind enough to cool the room down prior to my arrival, the ability to come and go at any time.

Cons:

Entrance to car park and property is quite narrow, good luck with a very wide car, I only just managed to squeeze in with my wing mirrors folded.

Bathroom consists of a tub in the middle of the room along with the shower fitment that sits on top of the taps. Nowhere to hang overhead, so makes it difficult as water will get everywhere no matter how careful you are!

A nice place but disappointing stay.
Pros:

Good location. Nice traditional hotel.

Cons:

Specifically booked a room with a bath and had room 2 confirmed on a message. On arrival the room had been given to someone else. No other rooms with baths. Nothing they could do about it. Advised only on arrival no restaurant open that night and the bar was only open til 7.30.
Bathroom needed some attention as grout was dirty along the bottom of the shower and towards the wash basin. Toilet flush also needs attention. Disappointing stay in relation to the points above.

Great place to stay
Pros:

Fabulous staff. Beautiful house and surroundings. Amazing food. Will certainly visit again.

Cons:

No reflection on the hotel but due to the heat the room was stifling. A fan had been provided and put on before our arrival to keep it cool however, it did affect our sleep.
