Location
I was going to a wedding and two other guests I didn’t know were staying at the pub and sharing a taxi with me the next day . Judy introduced me to them which was wonderful and we had a nice evening. Also Mark drove me to Exeter the next day because transport was non existent. That was so generous and I was really grateful.
The structure of the building seemed almost ramshackle although inside was fine . With a lot of money spent on it could have been a stunning place .
Personal touches such as flowers in the room; lovely shower gel etc; a greatvtea/ coffee selection; friendly hostess. Even though I'd booked at the last minute, Judy was very accommodating. A great stay and would highly recommend.
Comfortable bed (single in twin room)
Judy (the owner) was lovely.
Had Beef Lasagne for dinner-all good
No milk in the room with tea/coffee facility
Lack of plug sockets
Shower a bit weak pressure wise
Great location for walking
Needed a little bit of love and attention
Staff extremely friendly and helpful.
Room clean and meet all needs.
Lovely location.
Great food and willing to make adjustments to meals for my diet.
Offer vegetarian and vegan options.
I enjoyed my time at The Royal Oak, no complaints.
Judy and Mark were great hosts, v welcoming and friendly. I felt very at home and my room was lovely.
It was in a great location. Nice to have clean room and bathroom very clean too.
Property is quite outdated and perhaps needs a little love.
I don’t think the breakfast was worth the money and everything seemed deep fried. Guess it just depends on whether you are happy with that type of breakfast.
The external looks belie a warm welcome, good basic food and accommodation, great value for money and a good centre for exploring the beautiful Teign valley and wider Dartmoor.
Would definitely go back.
Original and quirky.
Cozy
Idyllic location in the beautiful Devon countryside
Had trouble with the parking, as my car has a large turning circle. I parked on the road which was fine.
