Great location, hotel starting to look tired and in need of updating to rooms.
Pros:

Nice atmosphere in bar.

Cons:

Dining room closed so all food in bar area. Orderd fish and chips and paid higher price in error, wasn't asked if smaller portion required. Juice at breakfast came full of ice which we had to remove. Requested crisp bacon and it was barely cooked. Unable to drain shower water out of bath as valve loose and not working. Behind bathroom door hadn't been hoovered.

Very good but would have been a bit more relaxed had the courtyard room been a little bigger.
Pros:

Breakfast. Dinner food cooked and presented very well. Coffee. Service was very good although rushed off their feet, More staff required . Existing staff were excellent . Bar was good especially he draught beers. Atmosphere. Parking.
Entrance seating. Decor. Location

Cons:

Our Courtyard Room was far too small for two. We could only move around one at a time. Clothes hanging was minimal and it was dull with virtually no view. We were in it for three nights and it felt oppressive. However the bed was very comfortable and the TV worked very well.

Staff lovely, Nice room, Great Location.
Pros:

Breakfast was good however it isn't explained, so we didn't know what we could / couldn't have, i.e if we could have both juice and tea or coffee, or If we could have fruit as well as a hot option.
Maybe a good idea to make the menu clearer or for the staff to explain when they come over.

Cons:

There was a drain smell as you enter the property at the main door which filtered into the bar area.

We were very dissappointed to return to the property at 1015 to be told the bar was closed.

There was also a nail sticking out of the bath panel. :(

No Milk in the room for tea / coffee.

Pros:

Friendly staff, great location for our trip, lovely breakfast & clean room. Nice touch on checking in with a voucher for 2 free drinks.

Cons:

Unfortunately the location of our room meant that the bins were outside the window. We were woke around 7.30am on the Monday morning with the noise of someone in and out of the bins.

Pros:

We loved the location, the food was beautiful (not easy when celiac) and the staff were great. Honestly, a 10/10 for the food, we would go back again for it.

Cons:

A few unfortunate things that wasn't really any ones fault but never the less obviously had a massive impact on our child free break away.

We were in room 4, which is out in the courtyard, which was beautiful and so cosy. The bed was super comfy, and it had everything you needed for your stay.

The day didnt start of great when we were advised by the hotel that there was a water issue within the village that was affecting the hotel so they were unsure if they could accommodate us, we still decided to head that way due to wanting to spend the day in Burford.

Luckily, by the time we arrived, the issue was fixed, and we were given a free drinks voucher each for the inconvenience.

We had a beautiful meal there which honestly was the best I have had in a really long time and then headed to bed.

Unfortunately, we were woken around 1am to the fire alarms going off, again not anyone's fault but not ideal when you're on a "relaxing" night away. The hotel itself was locked, so we were unsure where to head to exit the grounds. It was later explained that there was a gate that should have been used.

Once the alarm was sorted, we headed back to bed only to find some hours later that the bed was crawling with ants. The feel of them crawling on us was what woke us up. It's safe to say we didn't sleep after that. We did speak discreetly with the manager at breakfast about the issue, and we were fully refunded a few days later.

Such a shame because what should have been a lovely getaway was actually really not. Again, noones direct fault, but this was our experience.

Safe to say we're on the count down to our next child free getaway, this time without the ants.
