A sad occasion but a nice hotel worth staying at.
Pros:

Lovely spacious room, enjoyed the breakfast - probably one of the best sausages I have enjoyed for a while. Also a thanks to your young staff who were very helpful.

Cons:

Not a lot to complain about but the furniture in the main lounge of the hotel where the wake was being held is starting to look a bit shabby.

Pros:

Great location the staff were friendly and efficient. The breakfast menu was excellent and the food was fresh and delicious.

Cons:

We were in the lift on our second day and it seemed to drop suddenly and stopped. We were shocked and called the alarm several times expecting someone to speak to us. No one answered the alarm and after a short while it started and the door opened. Needless to say we didn’t use the lift again

I had a lovely one-night stay in this fine hotel.
Pros:

Castle House is in a fine location, of course, which I much appreciated. The staff were all very friendly, helpful, and businesslike. Breakfast was very good.

Cons:

I would have liked more pillows and a more substantial eiderdown. One tiny point: one plug didn't work.

Perfectly well equipped room and very cosy, but would have been rather cramped for two people. Free parking at the hotel
Pros:

Centrally located and very close to the Cathedral. Free parking available. Room very well equipped

Cons:

My room was in a separate building which I wasn’t aware of when booking. Had to walk to the main building for breakfast in the rain

Superb hotel
Pros:

Stunning location near the cathedral. The staff were helpful, attentive and friendly. Spotless, spacious and pleasant room, very well equipped with nice touches such as a hamper and fresh milk for any teas or coffees. Also having an iron and ironing board appreciated. Dressing gowns too if needed. Excellent value. Tasty breakfast made to order, the eggs on my eggs benedict were cooked to perfection, with what felt like quality ingredients. Highly chuffed with this stay and will return.

Cons:

Parking situation stressful (no spaces left in their car park and someone parked in a way that made it difficult to turn around). Please note: if you park nearby at a car park like I did, it defaults to 12hours max, but you can overwrite this by specifying the end date and time.

Sash window rattled with the wind, room on the warm side.
