Excellent and unusual place to stay!
Pros:

What an unusual and homey place to stay! Would have loved a little more time on less rainy days. We loved hearing the rain on the roof. Cozy!

Cons:

Was a little pricey for the amount of housework you have to do yourself, but it's Hakone, so runs pricey.

Nice concept. Cleaning is needed.
Pros:

The concept is nice: you come, you have all that is needed for a night in a place where you cannot find a supermarket nearby. There are some nice common areas, for eating or for reading a book. It is nicely located next to Tagendai Hakone ropeway, and lake.

Cons:

The cleanliness. The location needs a deep cleaning: the rooms, the common space, and mainly the kitchen.
You are making the bed alone and I have no problem with this, but for the comforter there is no real duvet cover. there are just 2 bed sheets. We traveled with a kid so there was no chance for the comforter to stay over the bed sheet.

Pros:

If you are driving it’s a good place to stay. For us who without a car just catch public transport was not very convenient. In general it’s okay to stay.
