Waitui Beach Club Pool Upgrade Project
11th January – 24th February 2027
We are excited to share that our Waitui Beach Club pool at Sofitel Fiji Resort & Spa will be undergoing an upgrade to further elevate your experience. From 11th January to 24th February 2027, we will be retiling and resurfacing the Waitui pool and surrounding beach club area. During this time, Waitui Beach Club will be closed.
We sincerely appreciate your understanding as we enhance our resort facilities to create an even more memorable experience for you.Please inform of your expected arrival time in advance. Pros:

We stayed at Sofitel Fiji and, overall, it was an enjoyable stay, especially for families with young children. However, there were several issues that really affected our experience.

Kids pool and kids area – A big plus for families. There are good facilities for children.

Kids Club – It was decent and useful for families with young children.

Water slides – The kids’ slides were a lot of fun and definitely one of the highlights for our little one.

Cons:

1. Very slow Wi-Fi – The internet was extremely slow. Even a normal Instagram post could take around 2 minutes to load.
2. Construction noise – There was ongoing construction during our stay, but we received no notice by email or anywhere before arriving. The noise was particularly annoying in the morning, especially when travelling with a baby who was trying to sleep.
3. Very loud weddings – There was a loud wedding on two nights, with music continuing until around 10:30 pm. If you have a young child who normally goes to bed around 8 pm, this can be a major problem. Our baby simply couldn’t sleep because of the music.
4. Room service/housekeeping – This was another disappointing part of the stay. We had the room cleaning notice hanging from around 8 am, but the room still hadn’t been cleaned by 2 pm. On top of that, there were no towels available for a shower. We requested towels around 2 pm, but they didn’t arrive until approximately 2:45 pm.
5. Restaurants and food quality – The food was one of the weaker parts of the resort. Breakfast felt repetitive, with essentially the same options every day, and the overall quality wasn’t what we expected from a Sofitel. The pizza was particularly disappointing, with bread that tasted old and poor quality.

Amazing stay with the most wonderful staff
Pros:

The staff and service were 10/10! Everyone was so warm, welcoming and genuinely wonderful. Everywhere we went, we were greeted with a smile, and staff constantly gave my kids high fives, which made their experience even more special.
There are five restaurants to choose from, so there’s plenty of variety, and the gym facilities are clean, modern and well maintained. The fire show every Friday night at 8pm was incredible, and the live band by the beach was so good - such a beautiful atmosphere!

We absolutely loved our stay and would definitely come back.

Buffet breakfast was variety available. Porters or Concierge were always very helpful and welcoming. I have to give thanks to your porter Mr Jim, he was the shortest man but with so much strength, he carried 2 heavy suitcases at once! Thank you Jim, plse dont do that again.lol

Cons:

At breakfast, I had to always try and get a hold of at least one staff out the many walking around with only at that time, about 3 tables to serve. Was hard to get their attention to assist me. They were always talking amongst themselves. Reception - plse communicate to Customer what is happening. asked what was wrong and he said nothing...but said alot in Fijian to the other staff. We stood there for a while not knowing what is wrong with our room but they had alot to say in Fijian to each other. In the room bathroom, the people (outside walking around) can see from the mirror (in the bathroom and in the side of the door) who is in the toilet/shower and the room is on the 1st floor! Go look for yourselves. Sit on the toilet or go to the shower and see for yourselves. And I also didnt like that there is no JACK's. Plse bring Jacks back lol

Pros:

Clean and well maintained. Lots of nice restaurants at the resort so we didn’t have to leave the resort if we didn’t want to. Pool area was great for kids as there are shallow and shaded parts.

Cons:

It’s next to construction, that’s not their fault at all but it was noisy at some points because our room was quite close to it.
