レトロな感じの旅館で、従業員のみなさまにとても暖かく迎えていただいた。温泉も質が良く、岩盤浴も希少な北投石を使用しており、ここでしか体験できないと感じた。ありがとうございました。
The staff, especially the manager, were very helpful, kind, and patient with us. The rooms were clean, well lit, large, and decorated nicely. Bathrooms were roomy, well appointed with multi-function toilets, and stocked with toiletries. We loved the separate shower/tub room! We enjoyed the traditional Japanese breakfasts. It was our first time at a ryokan, so we had to learn the protocols for using the communal hot spring baths, but people were patient with us and the baths were wonderful.
The beds were very hard and uncomfortable, so we didn’t sleep very well. Most patrons seems to be locals using the hot spring baths, or visiting Japanese, so there was no information provided in English about the protocols for using the bath facilities, meals, and local information about restaurants, shops, trains, taxis, etc. None of the staff spoke English, but the manager had a translator app that was helpful. Luckily, our son speaks some Japanese and was able to assist with translation, but it would be much easier to have some English printed information available. We did have trouble getting our luggage sent to the airport when we departed, which we learned has to be sent two days prior to departure.
The location was great. A perfect walk form the train station if you travel light. No other foreign tourists while we were there! The breakfast was decent, although I have had much better in other places in Japan.
The price. This just wasn't a $300USD/night place. The facilities weren't all that nice. I would stay there again if it were half that price. Not sure why it was priced as such, perhaps Booking.com was part of it.
Enjoyed my stay here. Staff were friendly and helpful. I stayed in a traditional Japanese room which was very comfortable. Lots of parking if your driving. The Onsens we quite nice. Be aware this is not a tattoo friendly Onsen, but some rooms have a cypress baths which are good also.
This isn’t your standard hotel it’s an Onsen resort. It’s designed for people who want to enjoy the large shared bath facilities and stone baths and saunas.
You will need a car to get here, unless your happy to get taxis to the closest station
Very nice garden and very clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful despite limited English.
A little off the beaten path.
Staff: Ichikawa-san was most patient and helpful and passionate about making sure we will enjoy our stay.
He went out of his way to wait for us in freezing temperatures and biting winds at the open air carpark which took us awhile to find, that's dedication!
Room: We booked the Japanese Style Room with private onsen bath built with hinoki wood. Room was 10 tatami size and was way bigger than average in Japan. It came with a dining room and balcony looking out to a landscaped garden.
Plenty of wardrobe space.
Nice yukata and outer coat were provided.
Matcha and nice tea set were provided for us to enjoy.
Cleanliness: Tip-top everywhere.
Facilities: Hot stone dry bath of moderate and high temperatures was a novelty and very enjoyable.
Public onsens were clean and beautifully landscaped.
I wish we had stayed a few more days. Definitely would like to go back.
Not sure about accessibility by public transport as we drove there and didn't see any train station within walking distance.
Slight misunderstanding at check-in over payment status but was resolved quickly.
Very nice recently renovated ryokan. Beautiful and large traditional Japanese rooms with private onsen. Good breakfast and amazing onsen facilities including shared indoor and outdoor baths, sauna, steam room, radon stones therapy.
The facilities are so nice after the renewal. The hotel room was huge and the Cypress bathtub in the room was so great I never even actually made it to the hot springs! I just soaked in there like it was aromatherapy.
The view from the room was so nice. It's got to be excellent in the springtime when the cherry blossom trees are in full bloom. I really feel like I should come back and see it then!
The breakfast was a little bit more blasé than I thought it was going to be. I tried to get like a Cafe Ole kind of drink out of the machine and it just gave me straight black coffee. I felt like the part-timers that were working there weren't very interested, considering it was a weekday and there were only three of us in there and the other two people seemed very satisfied.. so I didn't say anything.
