Enjoyable hotel stopover. Would book again.
Pros:

Perfect for an overnight stay when travelling into North Wales or exploring the Iron Gorge heritage site or Shrewsbury. Everything modern & clean at the hotel, and the staff especially friendly. Food very good.

Cons:

The room was quite small with no desk for working on a laptop pc. The room was a little on the warm side even without the heating on.

great little place to stay
Pros:

The breakfast was excellent, were happy to switch up the breakfast. Would have liked fruit of some kind. the breakfast staff were very helpful and if we asked for anything they were very willing to help as much as possible.

Cons:

The room was very warm, there was under floor heating which needed to be turned down, it would have been useful to have something in the room to suggest that.

Comfortable stay in a lovely room
Pros:

We stayed on probably the hottest day of the year! The staff gave us a warm welcome and were very helpful, especially Katie and at breakfast, Tracy. The room itself was nicely decorated and very clean and the shower was good. It was a comfortable double bed. We struggled to sleep, but only because of how hot it was, as the room is not air conditioned, but on a 'normal' night, we would have been very comfortable there. The cooked breakfast the following morning was good. The restaurant and bar area was nice and cool.

Cons:

The only very minor piece of feedback was that the menu in the room to order breakfast the next day mentioned fresh fruit, but when we got down to breakfast the following morning, no fruit was available. Yoghurts would have been a nice addition too. We took our own fan with us, as we anticipated it was going to be hot. Perhaps on hot days, a fan could be offered in the rooms, given that there is no air conditioning? We would happily stay there again though.

Pros:

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel so welcome. All the staff we had contact with were so friendly and could not do enough for us. Dave, Katie, Karen and Millie, you particularly made it a special stay for us.
The rooms are clean and tidy, and the food is exceptional.
Well done to all the staff.

There is nothing not to like.

Issues beyond the hotels control but still a lovely stay
Pros:

It’s in a lovely peaceful location and the rooms are beautiful and exceptionally clean. There were difficulties during my stay which was unfortunate, however beyond the hotels control. A storm has caused a power cut and the restaurant wasn’t available but the team said it if I wanted to order in they would supply me with plates, cutlery, etc.

As a result the water also stopped working which was a consequence of the electricity issue. There was
Intermittent power cuts too.

The staff were all very apologetic, I wasn’t offered any compensation nor did I ask for any as on a whole I wasn’t badly affected as I needed an early night. I dare say others may of complained but I can’t comment on that.

Breakfast was lovely the following morning as was the server who had great customer service.

I want to stress while no ideal on this occasion it was all beyond the hotels control and I look forward to going back and having what i certain will be a perfect stay.
