Brilliant!
Pros:

Beautiful location, hotel spotlessly clean. Beer garden was well kept and relaxing. A range of beers on offer, very reasonably priced. Staff all very friendly and the breakfast was the best I have ever had. We are en route to Cornwall on holiday and this stay breaks the journey up. This was our third visit and we will be back next year. Thank you to the Fox and Hounds staff

Cons:

Some may say the room is a little dated, but it is in keeping with the charm of the historic building. It was very clean and the beds very comfortable. We brought our own fan as there wasn't one in the room. It is easy to pick fault in most things, but we loved our stay!

Great hotel/shame about the annexe
Pros:

We liked the main property, the location and the food in the restaurant was exceptional and the staff were lovely.

Cons:

The shared bathroom annexe. 3 bedrooms one bathroom wasn't too bad but the beds in the twin room were not fit for purpose. One was disgusting with unlevel springs all over. We were offered the 3rd bedroom but double bed very small (fortunately it wasn't booked). My husband slept in the single room as his bed wasn't as bad and I had the very small double room.

Convenient and bike friendly but basic
Pros:

Great location on the edge of Dartmoor. Friendly bar staff, relaxed atmosphere, safe storage for our bikes. Cooked breakfast was included which was great.

Cons:

My mattress was very lumpy and needs to be replaced. We were unable to lock our door (but weren't worried about that). One of the wardrobe doors fell off when we opened. We were stopping only overnight so none of this was a problem.

Lovely little gem on the edge of Dartmoor
Pros:

Warm friendly staff, quirky rooms, very clean, lovely breakfast and on the doorstep to Dartmoor national park

Cons:

I didn't like the fact that booking.com took the full payment 2 days before we arrived, but the hotel insisted that we still had to pay them as the payment to booking.com would be refunded. This took nearly a week to happen and I was on the verge of reporting to barclaycard that I may have been scammed

Perfect for us
Pros:

Stayed as a group of 12 golfers, great pub rooms a little dated but very clean and comfortable. Staff accommodated us fantastically during our stay and will be booking for next year. Food was excellent and drink prices reasonable

Pros:

What a super place to stay. Did an overnighter between 2 walking days on Dartmoor. The room was a bit dated decor and furniture wise, but it was a decent size, clean, very reasonably priced and comfortable. The bathroom had obviously been recently refurbished, with a nice big bath and plenty of hot water. Nice and quiet too.
The staff were friendly and unobtrusively helpful, decent dinner menu (also sensibly priced), excellent real ale and a great breakfast this morning, made with quality local produce.
Will definitely stay here again.
