This was the worst stay that we ever had.... The hotel that we booked and the room that we booked we didn't even see... We booked a cozy room with terrace and parking and all the amenities, but the hotel contacted us and told us to come to their other hotel which is sharing the reception with the one that we reserved. We came after 15h to check in our room, and the staff told us that our room is not ready and it won't be ready today, so we need to stay in this other hotel Laguna, honestly it is falling apart.... We booked a room with parking on site and of course when we came to this other hotel they wanted us to pay for parking..... And now the room.... The room they put us in wasn't even in the hallway with other rooms, it was some kind of separate dungeon ... The whole night the AC in the room was making terrible noises so we couldn't even sleep normally, and whenever someone on the top floor was using the bathroom we heard water like it was running on our heads...
This is budget hotel with only 6 or 7 rooms on the second floor rooms 1,2, and 3 have pretty big balconies.
There is a lot of parking available on the street and location is very quiet. We had no problems with room service or noisy guests. There is no microwave or kettle in the room, but who cares if you plan to spend all the time in Venice or other historical towns with a lot of options for eating out.
For this location rental car is highly desirable to go to Venice or other places in Veneto. Gas station on the next block on Via Fratelli Bandiera is 24/7, it accepts credit cards and does not require pin which is not common in the area. Comparing Marghera to Mestre I'd choose Marghera for more quiet, small town setting. There is nothing "historical" in the city but location is just right if you have a car. If you plan to drive to Venice - google for Parcheggio S. Andrea - it is 7 euro for every 2 hours, on the first floor. and in the early morning it is almost empty if you come around 7:30 - 8 AM (not sure about peak season though).
There are mosquitos in the area. If you plan to have windows open, think about having indoor mosquito repellents.
I stayed at the hotel yesterday. The environment is very nice and quiet, the hotel has its own parking place and there is a bus stop in front of the hotel to go to Venice. Which you can easily get to Venice.
Friendly staff. Very clean hotel.
We were not allowed dinner as they were hosting a party.
Breakfast took ages and we were given no choice. The guy who served us then sat opposite us and watched us eat. The dining room was quite large and empty other than ourselves, and he chose to sit immediately next to us and stare, the whole time we were eating.
The breakfast was good.
The door is quite hard to open.
