Brilliant resort, peaceful and with everything you need. Close to the beach, great food and friendly staff!
Pros:

This is a really lovely resort - we did a lot of research for hotels in the area and read mixed reviews of the Anukama, but I think these are unfair. The staff here are exceptional, they work so hard and go out of their way to make your stay comfortable. The cabanas are fabulous and the pool a real treat. As a single mother it was great to feel so safe, able to sit outside and watch my child in the pool right by our room. The food is also very good - had the best prawn curry of our whole stay! It is not cheap but this area (Nilaveli/ uppuvelli) is very expensive. We found Anukama to be very reasonable price wise compared to others, and well worth it. It’s also very close to a quiet part of the beach which felt very special. Thanks for such a great stay.

Cons:

The double room we’d initially booked was not great at all. There was no outside space, which wasn’t clear when booking. It would be fine for one night but not more. However, Bava was great and moved us to a different room. She was so understanding and she and the team were all so friendly and helpful.

Pros:

Die Anlage ist sehr übersichtlich, gepflegt und ruhig gelegen. Zum Strand muss man 10 Minuten laufen. Das Frühstück war sehr gut.

Cons:

Das Personal gibt sich sehr Mühe, aber der Service ist leider sehr unprofessionell. Essen- Bestellungen wurden vergessen, falsch serviert oder man kam und hat 3 mal nachgefragt, was denn bestellt worden sei. Der Service war auch extrem langsam. Wie wir erfahren haben, wurde das Hotel erst letztes Jahr eröffnet, so bleibt zu hoffen, das dies ein "Anfangsproblem" ist und mit der Zeit zum Laufen kommt. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis stimmt absolut nicht, die Unterkunft ist überteuert.

Really relaxing environment with beautiful grounds.
Pros:

The hotel grounds are beautiful and well kept with a stunning pool that you can go into up until 9pm which the kids loved. Comfortable room, pretty good breakfast and options in the cafe - nice touch that you can have coffee and soft drinks delivered to the pool. Food catered for a picky child. Staff were very helpful and organised a great snorkelling trip. It was a greta place to end our tour of Sri Lanka to rest up before the flight home.

Cons:

The rooftop restaurant was nice but could be improved with more comfortable seating.

Nur wenige Bungalows und Gäste, in der Nähe findet man einige gute Restaurants.

Cons:

Einige Kleinigkeiten sind verbesserungsbedürftig (Türschloss und Klimaanlage funktioniert nicht einwandfrei), das Frühstück ist zwar ok, aber verglichen mit anderen Hotels eher unterdurchschnittlich.

Verzorgd en kleinschalig
Pros:

Kleinschalig complex van geschakelde huisjes rondom een mooi zwembad. De huisjes hebben twee 2-persoonsbedden in één kamer. Basic maar netjes en verzorgd. Het onthaal was hartelijk en de communicatie verliep prima. Het ontbijt is smakelijk en je hebt vrij veel keuze. Optioneel kan je eten in de de rooftopbar, het eten is er wel vrij eenvoudig. Op 5 min wandelen van het strand en op ca. 10 min van de strandbars. Mooie locatie, enkel jammer van het vele zwerfvuil dat je overal ziet.

Ein guter Platz für ein paar entspannte Tage am Meer
Pros:

Sehr gepflegte Anlage mit schönen und sauberen Zimmern und einem tollen Pool. Der wunderschöne und trotz Hochsaison menschenleere Strand ist in 5min fußläufig zu erreichen, in der Nähe hat es auch viele Restaurants und Bars.

Cons:

Der Frühstücksraum ist sehr unpersönlich und ziemlich laut, wenn alle Tische belegt sind. Das Frühstück selbst war ok, aber für Sri Lanka bzw. für diese Hotelkategorie nur mittelmäßig.

Pros:

Dichtbij zee en een aantal restaurants.
Zeer lekker ontbijt. Superlekkere wafels bij het ontbijt. Leuk zwembad en ligstoelen.
Kamer was ok. Eten was lekker. De mevrouw aan receptie was de enige die zeer goed Engels sprak en ook perfect alles in de gaten hield. Goeie bedden.

Cons:

Toiletbril was te klein. Geen vloeibare waszeep. Personeel praat slecht tot niet Engels.
Tip: geef de mensen een afschrift van de rekening na de maaltijd en laat hen deze aftekenen, op die manier zijn de rekeningen correct bij het uitchecken. Te weinig plekken in de schaduw. Te weinig ligbedden.

Lo mejor la atención de Bava, ella lo coordinaba todo , recepción, habitaciones, desayunos siempre con una sonrisa.
Las cabañas están limpias y son muy agradables, la terraza es ideal para estar un ratito siempre con viento.
La zona de la piscina limpia y tranquila.

Las habitaciones podrían renovar algunas cosas, como cortinas o grifos del baño.

Das Hotel liegt etwas abseits, aber dennoch ist alles schnell und gut erreichbar zu Fuss oder weiter weg mit Tuk Tuks. Die Anlage ist sehr schön, tolle Zimmer/ Bungalows, toller Poolbereich. Sehr feines Essen, tolles Frühstück. Das Personal immer sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend, fragen öfters ob alles passt. Wir haben uns wohl gefühlt.

Cons:

Nicht direkt am Strand und am Strand hat es "nichts" kein Schatten oder Stühle, was für den eher höheren Preis etwas schade ist. Dennoch ist der Strand schnell erreichbar zu Fuss.

Das Essen findet in einem geschlossenen, ziemlich runtergekühlten Bereich statt, das fanden wir nicht so toll.

Le pire rapport qualité prix de mon voyage
Pros:

Le personnel était aux petits soins et surtout la gérante Bava était tres compétente et professionnelle
Pour notre lune de miel, nous avons eu un magnifique cadeau d’arrivée avec écrit « happy honeymoon », et un superbe plateau de fruits. La chambre était décorée
Piscine assez propre
Dîners excellents grâce au chef cuisiner avec qui nous avons eu la chance de faire un cours de cuisine sri lankaise pendant 1h
Proximité avec la plage 10 min à pied

Cons:

Je mets 5/10 pour l’hôtel car le rapport de qualité prix est très mauvais (400€ les 4 nuits).

La chambre manque cruellement d’équipement :
- Pas de meuble dans la salle de bain pour poser les affaires
- pas de sèche cheveux
- pas d’eau chaude dans la douche, juste de l’eau tiède
- pas de télé
- pas de table de chevet (!) nous avons donc eu deux chaises sur lesquelles nous avons pu poser nos affaires
- pas de lampe de chevet, ni lumière sympa dans la chambre : obligés d’allumer les gros spots lumineux du plafond

Au petit déjeuner j’ai été obligée de payer mes cafés qui n’étaient pas inclus dans le prix du petit déjeuner

Contrairement à ce qui est écrit, il n’y a pas de balcon dans la chambre ! Le « balcon » mentionné n’est en réalité que le couloir qui mène aux différentes chambres … vraie arnaque

Lovely spacious family room by the pool. Good food and great views from the rooftop cafe - especially at sunset.
