Excellent stopover on our journey south
Pros:

As a one night stopover, it was perfect close to the M6.
The facilities were excellent and being connected to the restaurant made it very convenient for an evening meal.
Breakfast was good, too.

Rooms very poorly insulated for noise and far too hot. It is clean but I wouldn’t stay again.
Pros:

The Bears Head was very clean, well decorated and on the face of things all appeared well however…………

Cons:

the rooms are ‘very’ poorly insulated and you can hear everything in other rooms from conversations, creaking floorboards and the toilet flushing. The rooms were also far too hot even when we opened the windows. We were in room 103 and there seemed to be a heard of elephants in the room above! There was shouting, laughing and drinking and this disturbed our sleep. Regular flushing of the toilet and the noise from the cistern was unbearable and even when the room party had ceased, one elephant remained to-ing and fro-ing from their bed to the toilet. It’s such a shame as the staff were nice and the food in the restaurant was really good. I did have a look at other places and picked this as I thought it was a fair price as we were breaking up a journey from Glasgow to Kent but unfortunately it wasn’t value for money as due to all the above my family and me had an awful night. I would pick a premier inn over this as you’re guaranteed a quiet room!!!

Really nice place to stay for a short break.
Pros:

Spotless room and food was delicious!

Cons:

Some of the staff could do with cheering up. The weekend menu offer sells out quickly apparently but we ordered the same food so I was a little confused.
