Please be aware that some restaurants including Spey Burger at Macdonald Aviemore Resort will be seasonal, but at least one of our restaurants will be open during low season

For guests staying on a Dinner, Bed and Breakfast package you can enjoy a £25 spend towards food in one of our restaurants. "Children aged 12 and under can stay and take breakfast for free when sharing a suitable room with two adults. Child dinner will be charged separately dependent on menu chosen"

Please be aware that Thunder in the Glens event will be taking place on resort from the 22nd - 24th August 2025 inclusive. This event will cause elevated noise levels due to being a motorcycle event, and there will also be live music being played around the resort until late evening.Please inform of your expected arrival time in advance. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly using the contact details in your confirmation.
Guests under the age of 18 can only check in with a parent or official guardian.

Love Aviemore
Pros:

Staff were very helpful throughout the resort.

Cons:

Room was quite cold even with the heater on. Heater was positioned next to the window which maybe didn't help.
Pool changing rooms in the shower area could be cleaner. The showers were cold both of the days we used them.

Wonderful resort, across the road from the train station

Good break but the report is a bit ran down for the prices

Close to the town centre

Cons:

It is advertised on booking.com as if the pool is attached to the Aviemore hotel rather than the highland hotel. The bar was only open on Saturday, and the bar being called the fish bar you would expect them to sell food but apparently not.

Pros:

We have stayed here a few times before. The location is great! Close to the Main Street within walking distance to shops etc. a lot of families to do in the grounds also
We stayed in the Aviemore hotel and really enjoyed the bar there as it had a lot of activities for families such as board games,pool and air hockey

Cons:

The rooms are quite dated could do with an upgrade. The swimming pool is absolutely freezing! Although the temperature says 28 degrees at all times it is extremely cold.
The breakfast was very undercooked on both day's sausages and bacon were not cooked well.
Drinks quite over priced
The beds were extremely uncomfortable. Even tried sleeping in the kids beds and they were of similar discomfort

Lovely friendly staff- so attentive but hotel needs to refresh outside and make the leisure ce RTw gym much better

Pretty close to main road to east to walk to shops

Cons:

Buildings looked run down
Gym and leisure centre were really underwhelming! Gym consisted of treadmill and a couple of weights- really missing an opportunity there!
No lights at night in the parking area and pathway were not working

Pros:

Friendly and helpfull staff - at all the facilities.
Good food onsite, good amenities- pool and soft play area is fantastic.
Its a short walk directly to main street in Aviemore, lots of flyers and info on what to do.
Plenty activities at hotel even during a quite spell.
Was a bit more expensive for stay and drinks than I had expected but overall was good. Will visit again

The location and the facilities.

Cons:

The hotel that was allocated to us when we arrived and the room was unsafe. They moved us to another hotel within the location the next day which was lovely and closer to the facilities.

Excellent hotel all round, we will definitely book again.
Pros:

The staff were lovely, the room was well equipped and very clean. The location is central and within walking distance of the main shopping street. The kids enjoyed the pool, soft play and the park. The breakfast was really good.

Cons:

The pool was a little cold but the kids were happy to stay in.
