Pros:

We recently stayed in one of the self-catering chalets at Arminel Hotel in Hogsback, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The chalet was comfortable, clean, and well-equipped. We especially appreciated the heaters and electric blankets, which made our stay warm and cosy during the cold weather. Whenever we had a problem, it was sorted out quickly.

A special thank you to Mavis at reception, who was always friendly, helpful, and efficient. We'd also like to thank Natalie at reception. We accidentally left our phone charger behind, and when we phoned to ask if there was any chance someone might be travelling to East London, they immediately offered to bring it with them the following day. That level of customer service was exceptional and very much appreciated.

The only concern we had was the security. Access to the property seemed too easy. The pedestrian gate wasn't locked, and anyone could simply press the button to open the vehicle gate and enter the property. During our stay, a roadside vendor we had spoken to earlier was able to walk straight into the property looking for us. While he meant no harm, it highlighted how easily anyone could gain access to the property.

We feel guests would be safer if access was better controlled, perhaps by issuing remotes or another secure access system to registered guests.

Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would happily recommend Arminel Hotel. The excellent customer service, especially from Mavis and Natalie, made a lasting impression. With improved security, the experience would be even better.

I would definitely recommend it to family and friends. If it is possible, I will book again.
Pros:

We really enjoyed our stay. I was surprised that the tennis court were clean, even any leaves were removed.

Cons:

I was disappointed that the restaurant was not operational anymore.
The top bathroom's plug did not work.
I would have appreciated dry firewood, but that there was a complementary bag of wood, was nice.

Ooh I love almost everything we had a peace of mind. It felt like home away from home 🥰
Pros:

It’s very neat and also child friendly . I like the fun play ground

Cons:

One of the shower didn’t have cold water and also one of the single bed electric blanket just stopped working on the second day

Overall relaxing place with good space and friendly staff
Pros:

A bit noisy right next to main road and amenities a bit outdated, but staff were very friendly and beds very comfortable.

Cons:

Advertised wifi but only up in main lodge with a limited code
