Up 2 flights of stairs no lift that side of the building.
The qué for breakfast. Like a load of cattle waiting on the stairs. Ate out every day did not qué on the stairs while the staff made up their minds did the qué need to register or not. Very disappointed and disorganised.
Dinning room organised and told how to get breakfast. What a mess
No warm towels rail. The room full of condensation as never any heat. Requested bath mat never received one. Had to use a hand towel on the bath bottom to stop slipping.
The bed was comfortable. That was about the only redeeming bit of the stay.
Pretty much everything else.
The shower was mouldy, paint chipping, leaking taps in the sink. I complained about low water pressure in the shower and was assured it was fixed. The only thing that changed was they loosened the shower head and it fell off and hit my partner in the face.
Key cards seemed to reset after 12 hours which meant multiple trips to the reception.
On day 2, we were locked out the hotel entirely due to what I understand was poor handling and management of COSHH substances. This put the whole hotel lockdown.
Following the poor stay I left the hotel prior to the end of my stay and requested a refund. I was assured the duty Manager Alex would call to assist with this. Given the exceptionally poor quality of the stay, im unsurprised he did not call.
So the summary of this is DO NOT STAY HERE. The hotel is of a poor quality and if you do report an issue they will do literally nothing to assist nor help.
I cannot express my dissatisfaction enough.
Breakfast was usual self service buffet, everything required and usual infuriating toaster. Staff very very good at keeping tables ckeared

Ryan macdonald and Meghan at reception were a complete dream, they went above and beyond to make my trip the joy it was

Hotel is tired and not worth the room rate. At least ensuites have been refurbished but corridors are really poor with worn carpets and old/scratched doors. Aspects Restaurant very disappointing - poor value for money and really poor service. Stayed there 15 years ago, and they haven't spent a bean since. Pool changing rooms need more regular cleaning during busy times.
