Fabulous location in the centre of Stamford, beautiful old building with lots of indoor and outdoor options for dining

Wonderful staff - professional, friendly and positive

Our room was large and surprisingly air conditioned - we hadn’t expected this in such an old building and it was very welcome

Lovely dinner in the Oak dining room - good wines at reasonable prices

Beautiful but pricey.
Pros:

Beautiful old building with lots of lovely original features.
The bedroom had air con which was fab.

Cons:

The bedroom was very small and so was the bathroom.
No tea and coffee facilities in the bedroom.

Would come back again however expected better value for money because of the negative points
Pros:

Room was good ambience of hotel great

Cons:

Pre dinner drinks in the courtyard was very slow. Young staff need to be more attentive, there was plenty of them.
Crepe suzette lacked something, I did not see the waitress put in any freshly squeezed orange juice.

The age, location. Visited on recommendation and it certainly lived up to it. Full of character. Staff very accommodating. Atmosphere made to be welcoming and all requests were met.
