This is a lovely hotel with style and quality. The staff are amazing - a breathe of fresh air in this day and age. My room was lovely and the bed extremely comfortable. The food was of the highest quality.
It is a perfectly situated, being a very short walk from the railway station and a stroll into the town centre.
I have no negative points at all.
Location
Tv didnt work shower was terrible room not particularly clean .very overpriced
Lovely old historic place. Great staff
From Check in to Check out, the stay was exceptional. Every member of Staff was courteous and had time to engage in conversation. From reception, to garden refreshments service, restaurant service staff and the staff who delivered early morning coffee.
The room itself was immaculate, and we benefitted from a generous upgrade to the booking made. Much appreciated.
Well done and Thank You to everyone.
It was a heatwave...so if the weather had been a tad cooler......but that is beyond the control of the Hotel.
Overall, there was nothing to dislike.
Great friendly staff
Without question, the main course of liver and bacon was the finest I’ve ever tasted.
The attentiveness of the waitresses and others was similarly out if the top drawer.
Breakfast - it was good but eg to be given toast before the consumption of either porridge or scrambled eggs etc resulted in the toast been almost “past its sell by date”.
The hotel is beautiful, full of English Heritage. The breakfast was divine. Absolutely delicious with good quality ingredients.
The waitering staff where amazing, super friendly and nothing was a problem. 5 star service.
The only disappointing remark I would say is that you do encourage dogs to stay, but don't allow them into the outside terrace when eating Which unfortunately makes bringing your pet along with you a more experience than it should be.
We had to eat both our evening meal and breakfast on a low table which was not ideal, given the overall amount we spent for our 1 night stay. If you allow pets to stay, then please do create a more suitable dining experience that allows pets to join you, as you don't want to have to leave them alone in the room.
Character, the service, the food and secure parking.
I understand it is an old property (and love it), but I’ve had a more powerful shower in the African bush than the one in our bedroom!
Frühstück, Lage und Ort waren gefällig.
Etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Der Dresscode stimmt nicht mit der Sauberkeit und dem beanspruchten Stil zusammen.
Its a beautiful, traditional and elegant hotel. The staff are very friendly, attentive and warm. The food is always beautiful and the public spaces are a joy!
Nothing.
Very well maintained
Always top service.
Lovely location and old building with charming character.
Sadly an upgrade due to wife’s birthday resulted in problems with the bed height. Too high for a little lady to get in and out,and the pillows looked of good quality but they were uncomfortable as was the very firm mattress.
Room was clean and Tidy. Breakfast was very good. We did not have dinner or drinks in the hotel.
