Classy hotel with bags of character
Pros:

Delicious breakfast, comfortable bed, such a fantastic buildings and beautiful town.

Cons:

Cold water pressure weak, information in room about facilities & room service etc a bit thin, Hollandaise sauce needed more lemon.

Wonderful quintessentially English hotel with everything you could possibly need for a luxury break.
Pros:

Staff were super helpful, welcoming, immaculately turned out, it was an absolute pleasure to see such a busy hotel in January, there was a real buzz. Breakfast was absolutely delicious. The room was spotless and had everyhting you need, bed super comfortable with lovely pillows.

Cons:

When we arrived I was told that I had to pay, I showed that the money had left my bank account but was told this was a virtual payment (I have worked in hospitality all my life so I know how this works!) which wasn't correct I didn't feel the receptionist was particularly caring or helpful and there were a lot of people at reception so it was a little embarrassing. Payment had been taken but there was no rael apology for keeping me waiting.

Characterful hotel. Needs updating.

Has character. Bed good quality. Breakfast good

Cons:

Very noisy in the morning. Needs updating. Bit shabby in places. Wish they told me there was no access / I had to leave Stamford and go back onto the A1 which was about 15 to 20 minute diversion

Hotel and room fantastic, food nice but not particularly creative for the price.
Pros:

Breakfast was excellent, beautiful surroundings. Wry central, good sized room, lovely well designed bathroom.

Cons:

A little bit noisy at night. Restaurant food was good, but not quite innovative enough to justify the price - it was the basic version, well done.
