Pros:

I enjoyed my evening meal on my first night very much indeed. I had eaten in the Oak Room on my last visit and decided I wanted to have a treat again.

Pros:

Superb and superb

Cons:

Room was not a £280 room. Not huge, no phone charging sockets (!!) access up 4 cramped steps, complimentary tea offered but no in room facility for it or mini fridge, window rattled and noisy fan under desk not sure what it was doing.

Family birthday weekend - The George at Stamford was a very good choice
Pros:

Staff and service were excellent. Ambience was good. Both dinner and breakfast were very good.

Cons:

There were a lot of staff which in itself was not a bad thing but I expect this had some impact on the value for money

Exceeded our expectations.
Pros:

The hotel itself is stunning.
The standard double room exceeded our expectations, so quiet & comfortable! The little extras included in the room & the bathroom were well thought out and catered to everyone's needs. The room was extremely clean, we didn't want to leave.
Breakfast was delicious and plenty of choice, value for money!
All of the staff were welcoming, friendly, attentive & helpful. Nothing was too much trouble.
The bar areas are so cosy, comfortable & great selection of drinks and snacks.
We will definitely be coming back & have also recommended this hotel to our friends & family

Decadant, indulgent, relaxing stunning gardens
Pros:

The food was superb, the outside area was convenient and comfortable for larger groups. The dining rooms exquisitely decorated and comfortable. Wonderful touches, coffee delivered to the room, cakes and newspapers complimentary.

Cons:

The hallways to the rooms could do with a little attention. Understand it would be a great cost for not a lot of benefit but they are looking tired.

This hotel is superbly located and parking is excellent. The gardens are amazing.

Cons:

Such a shame that there are very bright and cold white LED lights practically EVERYWHERE!!! The ambiance of the hotel would be TRANSFORMED if softer warmer bulbs were used instead - it would take the whole place to another level much more in keeping with the age and beauty of the architecture of this superb hotel. And at no extra cost!!!
I suspect the bright green wall in the breakfast room might even look slightly better in warmer lighting!
