the windows were soaking wet with condensation littery running down window on to net voil room was freezing damp through the night
I couldn't sleep because bed was so hard I understand not everyone like soft mattress but it was very hard so much that I won't be going back there again. Never had breakfast as the sight of mice box's by breakfast table were the breakfast was put us off cereals we're all laid out jams and things when we came past at 12 30. Am I understand its old hotel but these are 2 very seriously bad health issues that need addressing fast .my asthma as been nothing me since my stay

The cleanliness was good and the staff was very cooperative
The washbasin was blocked which wasn’t good and not been fixed during my stay, but hotel staff and manager compensated me with free breakfast, although that wasn’t satisfactory but they didn’t had any other choice.

On the main road through Ambleside, but even with the window open and being above a pub, it was surprisingly quiet!
The quad room is large, and beds are comfortable.
Very central accommodation and some parking is available on site for free.
The exterior and windows could do with a little tlc, and the room showed signs of wear but not anything that would impact on your overall stay.

Food. Okay. Gluten free options limited mid range pub food.
The location right in the centre of Ambleside was great, walking distance to everything & a Tesco Express right across the road.
Family room was spacious, with a beautiful modern bathroom.
Parking was tight but it worked, with staff ensuring we had a space when it appeared otherwise.
Being an old building there was obviously no air conditioning (expected so not a problem), but we were happy to open the door to a couple of fans having been strategically placed in preparation of our arrival.
Lovely pub.
