Great stay
Pros:

Stayed at White Lion just one night bank hol weekend. Their family room is great for a parent and teens. Nice staff. Absolutely amazing breakfast. Central ambleside with parking so really convenient.

Great location in the village, there are quite a few good restaurants just minutes away.
The room was very clean and comfortable.

Cons:

You pass the pub on the way to the room, and you are welcomed with a very strong smell of beer :)

Pros:

The location. Free onsite parking. Comfortable bed. Socket point right next to mirror to use hairdryer. Quiet room despite its location in the centre of Ambleside.

Cons:

The shower overflowed as it wasn't draining properly. There were limited gluten-free options for breakfast.

Sunny weekend
Pros:

We booked this at the last minute as weather forecast was good for the weekend. It is in the centre of Ambleside with parking outside and we enjoyed lunch before checking in. The room (5) was quiet and comfortable and breakfast was good with plenty of food in fact we've booked again for June

Cons:

It would have been nice to be able to check in slightly before 3pm as we are bikers and needed to get out of our gear

Great location and good value for a short stay
Pros:

Location is excellent and the onsite parking is a bonus as paid parking nearby is not cheap. Room was nice (number 5) with good bathroom toiletries and refreshments in the room. Staff were friendly and helpful and their is a nice atmosphere in the bar.

Cons:

The free wifi was pretty slow and the tv had minimal channels (some of the Freeview channels).
