Important information:

Braunwald is a car-free village. Please note that Märchenhotel is only reachable by cable car from Linthal, where guests can also park their cars. The last cable car leaves at 23:55. The journey to Braunwald takes 7 minutes. The cable car station is a 10-minute walk from the hotel. A shuttle service from the cable car station is provided free of charge.

When staying on one of the family units, please inform the property in advance about the number of guests arriving with you, including the age of children. You can use the Special Requests box when booking or contact the property directly.

Den Namen (Märchenschloss) haben sie sich definitiv verdient, absolut genial traumhaft.
Pros:

Sehr freundlich und persönlich, sie merken sich die namen und die der Kinder. Es gibt alles von klein bis gross.

Cons:

Das ist meckern auf hohem niveau, das Abendessen ist ala cart. Wir bevorzugen mit Kindern Buffet, da es am Abend immer schwierig ist, wie lange das Kind noch mitmacht. (Aber jedes Kind ist anders)

Pros:

I liked the fact that everything was designed with children in mind. The children were delighted. I liked the food, although the selection was limited, but there was always something suitable for both adults and children. I also appreciated that the hotel was located within an hour's walk from beautiful scenery, making it accessible to children. The reception staff was friendly and helpful. The outside area was very interesting for kids and their parents, with all animals, really cool playground, racing bicycles etc.

Cons:

The furniture in the rooms is a bit old and unpleasant. There was also a lack of cleanliness, possibly due to the old furniture or the large number of flies in the room when we first checked in. We opened the windows and drove the flies away, but we occasionally found dead flies in the corners, which was not very pleasant considering that the children mostly played on the floor.

Amazing trip. The level of effort the staff and owners go to , to ensure such a welcoming stay is incredible. Different activities and menus daily. The best family friendly hotel we've ever stayed in. We'll be back.

Good in summer with lots to do outside, kids had good fun, did not like the rooms.
Pros:

The location and outside amenities for kids (playground, go carts, tennis court, lamas, goats, bunnies, pirate ship) are lovely, staff at the reception, bar, restaurant very helpful and attentive. Loved the pinocchio water fountain outside. Also the pool was good and clean and kids loved it. Lots of little details for kids around too, like the slide or the inner kugelbahn, and cool kids program such as walking with the lamas.

Cons:

The rooms. You should not be charging outrageous chf 1200 per night for something that is old, broken, shower needs a redo, balcony door will not close properly, leaking bathtub (through a strange glass looking into the room.. whole thing there felt unnecessary). We had a family room, with two parts. I will say that while the beds were comfy and clean, and the view stunning, one would hope that a bit of effort would be put into a much needed new carpet, furniture that does not look like it’s from some hostel, into fixing broken things, maybe a working kettle. Had to ask for a new baby bed too because the first one was broken and completely unstable - should not have been there in the first place. Food was OK but nothing amazing either. Also, the fact that one is being asked to pay chf 30 for room service (read: service for the food you would be served at dinner anyway to be brought to your room) is a bit shocking considering how much you spend for your stay. You can pick it up for free which is what we did. I get that there is a lot included in the price like childcare (did not use it so cannot judge) but we have been to lots of other places in CH - the rooms simply need a full re-do to justify the cost.
