Important information:

For all guests arriving at the hotel, we reserve the right to pre-authorize a credit or debit card for the room rate per night plus an additional £50 per night for extras. The hotel is not charging your credit card. A pre-authorization is a security guarantee for payment only. Any excess pre-authorization will be released on the day of departure.If you cannot provide the hotel with a credit or debit card on check-in to pre-authorize, full prepayment will be required on arrival. Once the pre-authorization has been completed, you may charge items to your room during your stay by presenting your room key card wallet and signing for the transaction.

Hotel Guests are welcome to use the Health Club facilities including the swimming pool from 3pm on day of arrival until 11am on day of departure.

Monday > Friday: 09:00 - 10.00 (Summer holidays only) and 14:30 - 18:30,
Saturday & Sunday: 08:30 - 10:30 and 14:30 - 16:30Guests under the age of 18 can only check in with a parent or official guardian.
A deposit may be required at the property.

Pleasant stay, did feel fleesed due to charges in bar for food as pizza was not cooked properly
Pros:

Friendly staff on arrival and around the hotel. Very clean. I enjoyed my meal Moules mariere thankyou. Also loved the fact you could use the gym and pool but thought it would be much bigger from pictures.
Lovely location, and enjoyed walking outside onto the jetty and seeing the fish and surrounding lake.

Cons:

Friendly staff but room was incredibly stuffy where windows are obviously closed all day before guests arrive and you cannot open them fully. We did not sleep well due to no air con and I would not have minded if we could of opened the window fully. My son had a GCSE exam the following morning so not ideal as we travelled to this location to be closer and have a good rest and nights sleep. Also unforntunately my sons pizza was undercooked which we pointed out to the manager of kitchen, who clarified yes it looks underdone a bit but offered no replacement option or refund. Pool was very limited in space with parents sitting around waiting for their children, clearly they are meant to be outside pool area so not a lot of space as also due to swimming lessons taking place in pool, not idea if people are paying a considerable amount of money to come and stay with use of pool/jaccuzi. (Maybe an idea to separate times out for guests)

Pros:

Spa and gym were brilliant. Spa is very relaxing, nice swimming pool. Very relaxing.

Dinner was great in the evening. Breakfast was also great with lots ot chose from.

Cons:

No air conditioning in the rooms. We stayed on one of the hottest nights and just thought a hotel to this level would of had air conditioning. We didnt sleep well at all, bedroom window couldn't be opened past about an inch.

Pros:

Nice hotel some staff excellent.
The in the restaurant she was brilliant.

Cons:

On checking day one staff member on the desk.
Having been woken by a fire alarm 17 times having to leave the room at 5am
Not being told by a member off staff what was going on. We found out it was a faulty detector.
Not being able to book a table for dinner on our last evening because they were short off staff..
When we asked for some form of compensation having booked for two days.
We were offered a complimentary drink.
Very disappointed.

What a shame lovely hotel but will not be visiting again.

Cons:

Breakfast was a bit of a fiasco, ran out of food and crockery and had to queue to get seated. They cater too much for conventions rather than guests.

Rooms good, beds very comfortable and staff very friendly, Restuarant needs some serious management

Cons:

In a party and we were asked to pre-order food when we got to the restuarant on the first evening we were told that one of the starters ordered was not avialable because they had RUN OUT shouldn't they have allowed for that.
Food at breakfast, the "Full English" consisted of rubbery fried eggs, almost cold cardboard bacon and overcooked tomatoes because they probably been batched cooked and left under a heat lamp for too long.

Won’t be staying again
Pros:

Food was reasonable

Cons:

Staffing was terrible - most of the staff (with a few notable exceptions) gave the impression that this was their first day working in a hotel.
Tables not cleared or cleaned - orders forgotten- pre orders ignored - long queues at reception & no one answers a phone

Chaotic around the restaurant. We were part of a group and although the staff serving us were lovely, no one had a clue

Clean and functional

Cons:

You couldn’t open the windows in the room by more than an inch. It was very hot and with no air we both had an extremely uncomfortable couple of nights. We went home a day early.

Pros:

The rooms were nice and spacious. The outdoor seating area was nice and the restaurant and bar was nice

Cons:

We had a long wait to check in as no one was manning the reception desk. However we did get two complimentary drinks to say sorry. The outside seating area by the bar was a bit messy.

Busy hotel with spa close to Cambridge
Pros:

The hotel's location was great for visiting Cambridgeshire from airfields to stately homes to the university city itself. Large car park. Close to supermarket & petrol station. Our room was very comfortable & very clean. The housekeeping staff were excellent. The swimming pool & spa were a bonus. All the hotel staff were friendly & polite & wanted to put things right if they could.

Cons:

The restaurant service, quality of food & availability of menu items fluctuated daily over our 3 night stay. However any problems were addressed very willingly by staff. The only thing they failed to sort out was there was no butter available our whole stay. I just couldn't stomach spreading margerine on my toast!
