Pros:

A peaceful, modern base to explore the Beisboch region and beyond
Pros:

A beautiful, modern hotel set in the stunning Biesbosch National Park region, giving you instant access to some of the most scenic countryside in the Netherlands.

The suites are well worth the extra, offering cooking facilities and a bit more space to unwind. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and the staff were consistently friendly and welcoming.

I opted to include breakfast with my stay. Unfortunately, the hotel restaurant was being renovated at the time (though it looks like it’s going to be lovely once complete!). Breakfast was instead served at Het Witte Huis, just a five-minute walk away. The food was excellent, and I believe it’s owned by the same family as the hotel — a really nice personal touch.

If you’re looking for access to cities like Rotterdam and Amsterdam, there are convenient transport links nearby. I rode over on my motorbike, which made the journey part of the adventure and was just as cost-effective.

If you’d prefer to avoid the main tourist hubs, Dordrecht is only about 30 minutes away and offers museums, galleries, and plenty of great places to eat.

I also attempted to use my limited Dutch. It was sometimes met with slightly bemused looks — and on a couple of occasions my pronunciation must have been a little too convincing, as I found myself staring somewhat helplessly while the conversation continued! That said, it was always met with a smile, and everyone was more than happy to switch to English to help me out.

Definitely worth a stay. I imagine in summer the area becomes even more beautiful, with easy boat trips right by the hotel taking you deep into the waterways of Biesbosch National Park.
