Elepath Lodge Pinnawala

We stayed at this property for one night; the room was clean and equipped with air conditioning. Lunch and dinner were exquisite! Nilang, the owner, was incredibly welcoming and kind. He provided us with plenty of information and suggestions for our trip to Sri Lanka! We highly recommend this hotel and, above all, this wonderful person.

The owners are definition of perfect hospitality, they helped us with everything and were very friendly and nice to us. I got a small infection on my foot from surfing and they took met to the doctor, where they waited with me, to make sure I am OK. Truly amazing people here

The location is fantastic. The hotel is situated right along the route where the elephants walk to the river, so you can watch them directly from your balcony.
The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the air conditioning worked well. I also appreciated the flexible check-in time, as I arrived earlier than expected and the staff did their best to accommodate me.

Hospitality & Staff The standout feature of this property is the staff. They are highly professional, genuinely warm, and kind-hearted people. Shehan and his team are doing a fantastic job. They are always happy to go the extra mile to ensure you have a great stay. Upon our arrival, Shehan even kindly upgraded our booking from a Deluxe BB room to a Superior Room with a balcony!

Unmatched Location & Experience The property itself is incredibly unique. From the window of our Superior Room, we could watch elephants walking down to the river and back—literally just inches away from our private balcony! Additionally, a short walk down the path leads you to a spot where you can watch the elephants bathing during the day. It was a magical experience.

Cleanliness, Comfort & Value The lodge is exceptionally clean and comfortable. Compared to other properties in the area, you get incredible value for what you pay.

Family-Friendly Amenities As a family traveling with a 19-month-old who happens to be a huge elephant fan, this place was perfect. The staff went above and beyond by happily preparing custom baby food for our little one during our stay. It is an ideal destination for families.

Delicious Dining Our breakfast was included, and we ordered dinner a la carte. For dinner, we had the mixed chicken rice, which was delicious and the portion size was more than enough for two. For breakfast, we chose the Sri Lankan option; the string hoppers and curries were excellent, and the coconut sambol was absolutely heavenly.

We will definitely be back the next time we are driving through the area. We recommend Elepath Lodge without any hesitation!

Absolutely loved our stay! The place was spotless, beautifully maintained, and felt incredibly comfortable from the moment we arrived. The staff was warm, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile. The location was perfect — peaceful yet convenient to explore nearby attractions. The food, ambience, and overall experience exceeded expectations. Every little detail was thoughtfully taken care of, making the stay feel special and memorable. Would definitely come back again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable stay!

This accommodation offered a truly unique experience. The facilities are a bit older, but still perfectly sufficient and comfortable for a short stay.
What really stood out was the staff – they were extremely kind, helpful, and easy to communicate with, which made everything smooth and pleasant.
A highlight of this place is its location: several times a day, elephants pass directly below the windows, and you can enjoy watching them either from the balcony or by the river. It’s an unforgettable experience.
The on-site restaurant offers tasty food at very reasonable prices, which we really appreciated.

It’s nice to see the elephant from the balcony of our room. Note that those elephants come from the Orphanage and most of the elephants have chains :-( the employees were nice.

The attentive and helpful staff. They are professional and always there to help. Spotless clean and spacious room and restroom. A/C and fan work well and it's very quiet at night.

Размещение отеля просто шикарное. Но немного подпортило впечатление чистота, постель была не свежей, был запах. В остальном, расположение и эмоции после прогулки со слонами все затмили.

The location is amazing as it is just 50 meters from the elephant bathing site and all elephants pass through this road, which is a site to behold! We could see elephants from our balcony. The room was very spacious and clean.
