Tranquility. If you’re wanting a break away from the city or if you want to spend part of a Cape Town holiday in a peaceful haven, this place is it. Sandi and Modester have created a wonderful oasis to relax with people you care about. Their communication and hosting are top tier. We wanted rest and peace and we didn’t want to leave!
Nothing
Location, service, communication from Sandi and Modester, amenities, star gazing, relaxation, braai pit, swimming pool, all bedrooms had their own on suite bathrooms.
No dishwasher.
Just perfect
Very clean, tranquil and good and friendly communications. The pool and boma were special touches
A bit far out of town, as we did a lot of wine farms.
Remote
Pool
Lapa area
4 rooms with bathroom
Stove , too small to have 2 pots on at the same time.
Loved the location, and views, and the fact that each room had their own bathroom, and aircon. Loved the big verandah, and the wonderful walking options, and the close proximity of the Breede River. The pool was great as well.
Two of our party of 8 were not a couple, so one slept in the lounge, on a single bed, thankfully provided by our hosts, and one in one of the en suite bedrooms, so having a guest toilet would have been nice. A full stove with oven would have helped, but these things were minor compared to the the beauty of the premises. The convection oven and 2 plate gas hob, did work really well, but was small for a group of 8 over Christmas. We knew this ahead of time so adjusted our menu accordingly, so all in all, it was fabulous.
We absolutely loved our stay at this home! The remote location was perfect for us, providing a peaceful escape where we truly felt connected to nature. It was so refreshing to wake up to the sounds of birds and the beauty of the surrounding landscape. The layout of the house was ideal for our family, especially with three children. Each bedroom having its own bathroom was a huge plus, offering everyone their own space and privacy, which made a big difference. The kids especially appreciated not having to share rooms, and we could tell they felt much more at ease and comfortable.
We had an amazing time and the pool was a great addition for the summer months; we had temperatures of 37 degree Celsius at 16:30! The aircons in each room were fabulous and much needed! The fire pit was perfectly located and shielded from the wind, providing a cozy spot for evening relaxation.
The home and outdoor space is large yet feels incredibly cozy, offering a perfect balance of space and comfort. The deck was a fabulous retreat, and we spent a lot of time enjoying our meals on the verandah, soaking in the views.
A special mention to our host, Modester, who was incredibly kind and friendly. She was always available to assist with anything we needed, ensuring our stay was as comfortable as possible. This home was truly a perfect getaway, combining tranquility, natural beauty, and thoughtful touches throughout.
It is not a deal breaker and we did take note upon booking that there is not a washing machine in the home; but we realised that we probably would have liked one since we had come from another vacation spot previously. However, we did see that Modester, the host, can offer to wash items for you at an additional charge, if required.
Beautiful setting! The house is extremely well stocked and comfortably furnished with top quality items. The hosts and Modester, the manager are very friendly and accommodating. We were gifted a bottle of olives and olive oil, though we didn’t do the tasting. There was nothing missing at the house - nice pool, large braai boma and large dining room table.
Nothing.
I liked that every room had a bathroom and that the geyser could handle all the showers running at once. I also liked that there were multiple seating areas.
I didn't like that there wasn't a dishwasher. For 8 people for 2 nights, I think a dishwasher was needed.
Expected daily general cleaning services (like dish washing), and was disappointed to be told it would cost extra - specially at the rate. The kitchen sink was blocked and maintenance took a couple of hours to arrive. There was an infestation of shongololos which made some of us very uncomfortable. Standard departure time is 11am. We were told when we arrived that we would have to be out by 10am so staff could prepare for the next guests. Not the warmest welcome, and again, considering the rate, a bit unexpected.
