Excellent choice of food items. Home made feel. Exceptional location near the lake side
The Palace is amazing. Our lake view room was fantastic. The very well priced massage was great, the swimming pool is also great. AND the bars are absolutely incredible.
Nothing.
Breakfast is limited but location is very good.
Room size is very small.
boutique hotel, excellent maintained
The hotel is a spectacular, boutique-sized, heritage palace with stunning architectural splendor in the courtyards and the indoor/outdoor dining room…a unique experience unlike any other palace hotel that I’ve seen in Rajasthan or anywhere else….a must see! The buffet dinners are delicious and a bit less spicy than normal apparently to accommodate the mostly foreign guests who are all seated at one stupendously long table beautifully lit with small lights and candles with a pool in the center…definitely fit for a Maharana. There is also a beautiful lakefront vista with an exquisite little temple that is lit at night, on a small island immediately facing the palace. The front desk manager was very accommodating and helpful when I could find him. My vintage marble bathroom was regal…large and circular with multiple small windows.
Most palace hotels are quirky, but this one is the quirkiest. My room was austere with only one tiny private window overlooking a rooftop. To access the room required passing through a lounge that had furniture packed two and three deep along the walls, like a storage area. My room was poorly equipped…there was no telephone, no safe, and no television (Booking.com said there would be). The bed was hard, and the pillows were thin. Plugging in my iPhone and iPad required unplugging two lamps, and wifi was slow. Arriving in the evening, the grounds of the palace were empty…no one to welcome me, or offer to help with luggage, or direct me to the (unmarked) reception. Once I found the reception, no one was there. During my three-day stay, reception was often empty which was inconvenient at times. Staff were not well trained and not friendly, usually standing around staring at us as we ate…or disappearing when needed. The pool was beautiful but not well maintained. Be aware that you will be paying a premium for the historic architecture and pedigree of the palace, and not for premium hotel amenities and services.
lovely old fashioned buildings. our bedroom was huge but rather old fashioned. amazing dining room with delicious food and the bar is something else. a lovely hotel with the highlight visiting the incredible palace.
may be update the bathroom
Location is exceptional and the property unique. Real vintage India, but not neglected. Immaculate and a step back in time. Loved it!
Absolutely nothing, staff were super helpful.
The food and service was beyond expectations.
the quality of room, bed and sofa needs serious change, the Tub in bathroom looks very good, but absolutely impractical and uncomfortable to use.
