Pros:

The property is very outdated — everything feels old and worn out. The bedding was not very comfortable, and there was an unpleasant smell in the room. The plumbing is extremely old as well.

We arrived after 7pm and absolutely everything in the area was closed, so there was nothing to eat.

We booked this room last minute after missing our ferry and left on the first ferry the next morning.
The caretaker however was friendly.

Cons:

I don’t understand how this property has such a high rating on Booking (close to 9). It really makes me question the reliability of the reviews, as they don’t seem to reflect our experience.

Sweet People with an Adorable Hotel
Pros:

The gentleman who checked us in was really sweet and understanding of us trying to speak our best Spanish. He walked us to the room and showed us where everything was. Our stay itself was comfortable, clean and relaxing. We just stayed the night so we could catch the Ferry in the morning. The next day the caretaker lady greeted us. We gave her our key as the check out process. After we talked with her thru Google translate. She was the kindest, sweetest soul and walk us to the front gate. She then pointed in the direction for us to walk to the Ferry. Loved this place and the people who very welcoming!!

Super voor een nachtje als je te laat bent voor de ferry naar ometeppe
Pros:

De eigenaresse was heel aardig en had betrouwbare contacten. Die mij weer verder hebben geholpen op ometepe. Ook heeft ze me goed op weg geholpen met de taxi die me voor local prijzen heen en weer naar de bank bracht.

Heerlijk geslapen in Hotel California.
Pros:

Wij gingen voor 2 nachten naar Ometepe. Hotel California (fantastische naam!) is prima gelegen ten opzichte van de ferry. Raymond ontving ons uitermate vriendelijk en hielp ons met alles op onze eerste dag/avond in Nicaragua. Een prima kamer met alles erin wat je nodig hebt. Heerlijk geslapen in het fijne bed!
We mochten onze bagage voor 2 nachten gratis opslaan. Dat was echt heel fijn omdat we slechts met een gevulde rugzak naar Ometepe zijn gereisd.
Fijne plek en een fijne gastheer!

Beautiful little hotel
Pros:

It's absolutely perfect for a stopover before taking the ferry to ometepe and our host was super sweet and welcoming! There's a beautiful garden right on your doorstep and it's quiet there!
