Sorted out excursions within a good period of time. Massage that was included was really nice
Leeches in badminton court
The hotel is truly a hidden gem - we were so lucky to stay there. The atmosphere is wonderful and cozy, with incredibly beautiful nature all around. The calming sounds of nature allow your mind to fully relax. It was exactly what we needed.
An essential part of what makes this place even more special is the staff - everyone is warm, kind, open-hearted, and genuinely caring people. The food is absolutely delicious.
We will definitely come back here and highly recommend everyone to stay at this hotel. The rooms are clean and tidy, housekeeping is always on time, and there are simply no downsides!
Breakfast and Dinner were amazing. Cooled to perfection.
The location in the middle of nature.
The rooms and beds were comfortable. Nothing flashy or luxurious in design, but clean, well-kept, and perfectly good for relaxing after a day out. The service was the highlight: every member of staff we encountered was friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful, which made a big difference given how self-contained the stay is.
We stayed at this hotel knowing it was quite remote, but it really became clear just how reliant you are on the property once you arrive - there’s essentially nothing else around. That does shape the whole experience. That said, the location itself is absolutely stunning and a big part of the appeal.
The biggest letdown was the food. If you’re coming here expecting great dining, you’ll likely be disappointed. The menu is very westernised, and the food we were initially served was quite bland - more like basic English-style cooking, with little to no spice or depth of flavour. Breakfast in particular was very average, while dinner was slightly better in comparison but still nothing special. When we specifically asked for local dishes and requested proper seasoning, the kitchen delivered something much more enjoyable and authentic. However, even then, the pricing felt hard to justify. It was expensive for what you get, and because of the location, you don’t really have alternatives - you’re effectively dependent on the hotel for all meals.
We also booked a tour through the hotel, which we would strongly advise against. It was very disorganised and, at times, felt unsafe. We were given minimal instructions and little in the way of preparation, which made the experience stressful rather than enjoyable. Unfortunately, I was also injured during the tour, and there was no apology or acknowledgement from the staff. It could have been much worse, so I chose not to escalate it at the time, but it did leave a negative impression.
Overall, a comfortable stay with excellent service in a beautiful setting, but the remote location, underwhelming food, and poorly managed tour offering are important factors to consider before booking.
Amazing place in the rain forest! It is all as beautiful as advertised. A new building in the nature, all rooms face the forest, sounds of nature all around you. The hotel is small so you get very personal experience. Staff are super helpful! And you can pay for everything with a bank card (although, if needed, ATMs are available a short drive away). Comfy bed, great wifi, tasty and beautifully presented food. Great place to switch off and relax. They also can arrange various activities in the area
The only minor downside - bathroom was surprisingly tiny (at least in room 203)
This was the first place we stayed at after arriving in Sri Lanka. We wanted a place to relax and to go water rafting. The manager Kenny is helpful, efficient and friendly . We felt well looked after by him and his team and it made for a very enjoyable and relaxing stay. We went water rafting which we organised ourselves and we also went on a walk to a waterfall , arranged by Kenny and guided by Danushka who took us in his tuk tuk. It was a nice walk and the waterfall and rock pool which we swam in was clean and quiet. We stayed on a half board basis and the choices and quality of food at breakfast and dinner were excellent. The pool was a delight - clean and pretty. Overall, this was a great stay
Nothing
Unique location
All good
This was a lovely hotel and broke up our journey really well between Columbo and N.Eliya. The staff were friendly, the food excellent and it was fun to do down to the river with the kids. The dining area is stunning all surrounded with glass in the jungle.
Not much to say here, it was a great hotel
