The room and bed were very comfortable and clean.
The breakfast was really good.
All of the staff were very courteous and friendly.
The entire hotel was very clean.
The hotel is situated in a fabulous position, right on the promenade, over looking the sea.
We felt that the entertainment was not very good.
Beautiful historic hotel. Staff really helpful & friendly.
Perfect location. I went on my own so it was a small room but had everything it needed. Very comfy bed.
Nothing
Location
Room smelt of smoke
Everything was lovely will stay again for sure.
Na
The hotel smelled bad, mostly poor ventilation from cooking, it was really overpowering and unpleasant. Also bringing stuff in from my car I had to keep pressing a buzzer bit not sure why as the hotel is completely open at the front through the bar. Not a big deal but was awkward with bags etc doing more than one trip
nice location
Fantastic staff. Great atmosphere. Lovely food. Spacious bedrooms and clean. Stayed here many times before and will keep returning. Perfect for me.
Could do with TVs updating and more plug sockets
Great morning.breakfast and attentive staff.
I was charged for sea view room. One room was brilliant however the second room was stingy ask then to change they did , the sea view from was only available if you come and stand in front of window. No sitting facility was available. Although I had paid for sea view room
good location good prices at the bar friendly people lovely clean room serviced each day
bed was a little hard for me
Beautiful bay window in room with sea view, bed was small but comfy.
Lots of noise from corridor, room above, television from the room next door etc but I think that's the same in most hotels!
Seating at breakfast was allocated, we were squeezed into one small part of the dining room, after choosing our own seat by the window we were politely asked to move.
Not a lot
Breakfast no where near as good as anyother Alfa Hotel we have stayed in. Room -certainly not what I would describe as a twin more like a single. The general state of hotel itself is tired. The carpets and walls all need a good clean lick of paint or renewed. The room we were allocated was room 113 which to be fair was right at the top of the stairs on the first floor so a good position. The actual room on first view was clean and newly decorated but very very small. It was more like a single than a Twin it truly was very difficult to go to the bathroom in the night from the bed at the window side. The bathroom was nice until you looked in the corners and behind the sink where the dirt had settled and obviously not seen a mop for a very long time.
Our first morning Breakfast we were served by a young man with short to medium length hair. He asked for our choices of Tea/Coffee toast and our breakfast choice. We asked for tea and brown toast plus full breakfast 1 small 1 large but without sausages on the large. The teapot we were given was a one cup size pot so we had to ask for another, the breakfast came with sausages so they were wasted, he just didn't seem to have any idea what he was doing. The whole time he had a dirty tea towel over his arm in his hand or anywhere else he was able to put it. At one time he actually patted another guest on the head with the teatowel. He later brushed his own hair back with the hand he was holding the tea towel in. I did report this to reception.
The car Park at the back of the building is a general mess. There was building work going on but that mess was different to the untidy general cleanliness of it.
The smell as you go down to the basement to get to the car park was awful. We were glad we weren't allocated a room down there. The general state of the corridors was awful dirty skirting boards marked carpets chipped plaster dirty banister on the stairs and certainly not what we expected from Alfa.
The location.
The breakfast was good and the waitresses were friendly and helpful.
The staff on reception were underwhelming. The decor in the corridors require an update.
Staff were really friendly and helpful. Breakfast was not buffet but was including essentials.
