Location, Parking and Very pleasant and helpful staff.
The room we had at the front was quite noisy as overlooked the main high street- a lot of deliveries were made especially early morning.
Lovely welcoming, efficient staff. Clean, comfortable room with everything we needed. Interesting and quirky old building right on the high street. Slept all night undisturbed with the big window wide open ( heatwave!). Fans provided. Great to have a magnifying mirror for make-up!! Nice to have a bath.
Only slight criticism was the smell on the staircase up to the room - not in the room.
although the rooms was lovely, being as it was in the eves, the window was sooo tiny, it was difficult to get any air into the room.
Lovely
Nothing
Great location, lovely staff, good breakfast!
Twin rooms on the third floor - those stairs!
Friendly staff
Bed was one sided very difficult to get in and out.
Very cool property, Really has a ancient charm in our British heritage.
The shower was no more than a dribble. Lack of water pressure. Being a plumber I do know how it can be a problem, if you have a cistern feeding the shower. But put a pump in under the bath? 🤷♂️

Nothing
The room itself was clean and well presented. The bathroom had issues - see below. The staff were friendly and helpful; chef cooked a meal for my friend which was not on the Sunday menu.
This is a very old building, and as such does not lend itself to accommodating the facilities expected by many travellers. Our room, Room 7, had a shower over the bath, and anyone over 5'10" would have to crouch to get under it. And no shower screen or curtain whatsoever, because it had been removed, as can be seen in the photograph, which resulted in the tiled floor becoming soaking wet and extremely slippery, therefore dangerous. It would have been far better if they had done one thing or the other - bath or shower, rather than both. And this is a pub, which didn't have any tomato juice, so the first drink request of a Bloody Mary couldn't be had.
Good location and friendly staff
Seemed a touch shabby round the edges and ceiling height very low in the 2nd floor corridor, I appreciate that it’s an old building but had I known I might have booked elsewhere, at 6’5” low heights are an issue. Food quality is declining at Marston properties that I have stayed at recently, this one was no exception
Friendly welcome nice enough from good breakfast right location
Far too expensive for what it is
Breakfast 8/10
Room 8/10, squeeky floor.
Location 10/10.
Central location. Free parking.
Cooked breakfast was good but limited.
