Location was good
Room was cold, toilet was broken and shower was cold
Room was clean and staff member sorted out new TV as the one in the room didn't work.
Bed was very uncomfortable, sensor in bathroom light goes out very quickly. Room was a bit drab and old fashioned.
Comfatable room, was told might be noisy but heard nothing. Staff pleasant

Central! Parking available!
No hassle ! Straight forward! Pick up keys then straight to room!
Spacious room.
No wc pan brush
No hot water in shower
Can be noisy from downstairs bar
The staff where all really friendly and helpful
Everything was great
KEEP IN MIND I STAYED MID WEEK AND AVOIDED THE TECHNO NIGHTMARE YOU GET AT THE WEEKEND. Hence this good review.
The positives are:
Smack bang in the centre of town.
Big room.
Old but powerful shower.
Decent tea/coffee/hot chocolate in the room.
Plenty of towels.
Reasonable free car parking out the back for 6 or 7 cars AND a pay and display car park behind that. Loads of parking generally.
Close to cinema.
Staff were very helpful.
The young Welshman in charge was a good egg. Very helpful.
Very, very clean.
Quiet after about 22:30.
Great place to stay for climbing in the South Lakes, Coniston Old man, Black Combe, Duddon Valley, local history.
Ulverston has more or less everything you need.
Close'ish to the beach (not walkable though)
It had a train station close by.
Good price by anyones standards. Amazing for the South Lakes.
Ulverston has gone down hill a bit since I was a kid. It's fully of Skallies now and the council are clearly facilitating that with their choice of central establishments. The Pizza joint across the way seems to attract dodgy youths. It is fairly noisy until about 22:30 with people leaving the pub etc. There was a bit of argy bargy in the street between a couple of drunken Tracys when I was there but it was all done fairly quickly. The hotel was a bit worn out. The handle fell of my wardrobe, the mattresses were a but lumpy BUT for this price you can NOT argue. My room was a pinch cold in winter and there was no extra bedding. The car park is hard to find the first time, not really sign posted.
Nice property, private car park out the back, very clean and great amenities, perfect location in the heart of the town
Comfy bed. Very clean. Everything needed for a short stay. Great location. Staff great!
Even though it’s a late night venue I could hardly hear anything from my room. Very light sleepers may struggle but had no issues
Town centre basic accommodation,good value
Location great in centre town..parking available.. they do want it can be noisy and it is..it didn't bother us but some would struggle sleep..we had an.excellent breakfast..food choice for brekkie much improved from last year. I had fabulous routine stack other half had full English.. both beautifully cooked and presented..very tasty..lad serving behing bar and serving brekkie was attentive and freindly
Nothing we stay every year..it has been freshened up..and food much improved
It's a great old inn with a lot of history. Big room, nice hot chocholate alongside the usual tea & coffee, decent shower (follow the instructions to over come the 19th century plumbing foibles). Central location is great for pretty much everything except the station. Very efficient check in and check out. I think they've started to refresh the rooms so previous reviews won't be accurate.
The stairs up to the rooms won't suit the less mobile. They've got noisy neighbours so bring ear plugs. The noises from 19th century plumbing are not as amusing midnight as they are at noon.
