Unfortunately the new owners have stopped offering a proper breakfast They didn’t make this clear I am gluten intolerant and I was given a plate of warm pastries at 8.00 pm in my room covered in tin foil None of which I could eat I rang down and they brought a toaster and a plate of preserves butter and 4 slices g/f bread In the morning I realised there was no knife and as there were no staff about I had to use a teaspoon handle to spread the butter and jam
Not satisfactory if they can’t do breakfast they should at least deliver a continental breakfast box I’d have been happy to pay they are off the beaten track and residents need breakfast !
No plug to have a bath
Couldn’t empty the bathroom basin as that had broken too
Spiders need cleaning away on ceilings/crevices
The room facilities & ambiance.
We’re not used to road traffic, which could be heard in the room, however this stopped at night and it was mentioned in info prior to arrival.
Great location, lovely shower, comfortable bed.
Only 1 chair and no option to have breakfast in the restaurant. The addition of a folding chair would have greatly enhanced the visit, as would providing the complimentary breakfast in plastic food containers with lids. We have stayed at the punchbowl before and stayed in the Oldbury suite which is a 10/10. We were expecting a room similar in size to the Oldbury suite.

Location was ideal for us for an event we were attending. The room was compact but had everything we needed, particularly appreciated a large tv with netflix.
Restaurant on site was excellent and lovely food.
Kind staff and helped sort some cereals for breakfast for us.
Accessibility for us as disabled guests was not quite as expected. There are 3 steps up to where you access the rooms from car park or reception with no hand rail which we found very difficult.
Bed was very low for us and very soft.

Ariel in tv was broken we did manage to sort it out though. Think a box is needed just inside bathroom for cushions on the balcony as they got wet and couldn’t sit out there on the morning

We were greeted by friendly staff who made us feel really welcomed. We had an excellent lunch plenty of choice from the menu, we had the Carvery tasted as good as it looked. Our room was very comfortable, lovely and clean. We would recommend staying at The Punch Bowl anyone visiting the area. The staff looked after you very well excellent service, great breakfast, we would definitely book again.
