The fact it was very original.
The food was exceptional for pub food... including a fabulous cabinet of deserts and cakes
My ensuite bathroom was very roomy and had a spa bath
The breakfast room was well set up in original style
Staff very friendly and helpful

Cons:

The large balcony which all the rooms came out on to needed a little attention and a bit of an upgrade

Ideal location in a picturesque town
Pros:

Location is perfect - right in the middle of town and walking distance to anywhere and everywhere. Above a pub was also ideal as we had dinner and drinks downstairs.

Cons:

Dirty sheets room 3 and dusty room. Broken coffee machine for continental breakfast very full rubbish bin in breakfast dinning room. Rats in the roof space at night.

Good location. Classic looking but cozy!
Pros:

Bed was comfortable. Very good location.

Cons:

Bathroom is huge so very cold, the floor being icy freezing, in early morning during winter. Not many choice of breakfast. Just bread and butter…

A good value country pub.
Pros:

Dinner in the restaurant was tasty and filling
The spa bath in the room was a real treat

Cons:

The lighting in the breakfast room was poor. You couldn’t read the labels on things and the coffee machine kept showing red lights, until a staff member rescued us. It would be helpful if the breakfast room had brighter lighting and instructions for use of the coffee machine were displayed (and what to do if it stops working). There were teabags provided but no way of knowing how to get boiling water.
