brilliant location and brilliant size rooms
a few shelves in our room were hanging off and we were scared with little one in room
The hotel is centrally located. The room was basic which matched the price. The staff were very friendly and polite. Cleanliness was poor even for basic. There was dust and in places it was thick especially behind the television.
Very early on our last day we were awoken by the fire alarms. We immediately evacuated ourselves from the hotel. Some other guests evacuated as well. After about 15/20 minutes we realised no one was coming to help us . Another guest called the out of hours security who lived at least 40 minutes away from the hotel. Once the security was alerted we thought he would phone for the fire brigade. No fire crew arrived. We had no way of knowing whether all guests were out of the hotel. 40/45 minutes later the security man arrived. This meant I had been sat outside in my pyjamas freezing cold with just a thin coat on for over an hour. The security man asked if anyone had got a key to the building which was unbelievable. He attempted to reset the alarm but it failed so he had to call for someone. The building had not been checked, no names taken and he had no idea if all guests were accounted for. He told us there was no fire and it was safe to go back inside but he needed to fetch someone else to the hotel to reset the alarm system. The building had not been checked at this time. He went off to fetch the other person and when they got back they managed to reset the alarm system. If this had been a real fire human life could have been lost and for this reason I have rated the hotel as poor. This is a serious concern , what will it take before the company who owns this hotel to realise the safety of its guests is not being met. Will it take the loss of a human life in tragic circumstances.
Room was clean and tidy

Stayed here multiple times with no issues but this time was put in the downstairs room the smell was awful in the room and there was a green light that was on all night so was unable to sleep the room was tired looking and didnt feel safe as the door wasnt very secure and the outside door was constantly left open by people
The smell in that room was awful made me feel sick and the room was tired looking and was by far the worse room we stayed in there also cob webs all over and bugs after multiple previous stays they upstairs rooms are by far better than this one the cushions were ripped the curtains were also ripped just wasnt very nice and as it was a accessible room dont know why we was put in it in the first place

Open earlier for breakfast 10o'clock too late when it's check out time

Fire alarm went off early hours of the morning stud out side for half hour before enyone come turned it off and said ok to go back in with out checking the building or guests no protocols
Room was nice, fan was great because got very warm in the night. Tv kept breaking up though. It defo needs WiFi. We were at back of hotel on top floor, was quiet n we slept good.
