Needs aircon still too hot with open air rooms.

Quizá habríamos añadido una neverita en el cuarto para conservar el agua fría. Pero lo demás excelente.

Cockroaches, ants - the lot! Avoid this place. This is an extremely dirty hotel - do not be fooled by the instagram / photos you see online. This is absolutely not a 3 star hotel! Despite having the most amazing 3 days in Hirriketiya - we done our upmost to spend as much time away from Jaspers House as possible. My wife and I are travelling Sri Lanka for our honeymoon so finding mid-range places with a nice pool, decent enough food and clean rooms was all we needed. However, the second we entered the room we realised we had mad a mistake. It was certainly the worst place we have stayed in.
This is not an exaggeration, the photos speak for themselves. The bathroom was crawling with ants - we believe down to the fact that there were dead cockroaches under the sink that they likely killed and thrown under there rather than remove.
The worst part about it was it looks like a coach roach was stuck in the shower pipes - see photos. Disgusting and lazy from the staff to provide a room in this state.
The staff were noisy and the breakfast is a complete waste of time. Flies everywhere, food sat out in the heat for ages - it was all disgusting. We were told this was their best room on the ground level with direct access to the pool - I would hate to see what the other rooms look like.
This place is perfect for back packers looking for a cheap stay who will be partying late into the night and need a place to crash. But if you’re looking for a boutique place as a family or couple - avoid avoid avoid.

It was a little hot without aircon, but we did not mind as the large fan was sufficient, although an extra fan for our daughter's bed would have been welcome.
The open air rooms can be a little on the noisy side- dogs and tuktuks etc, but we were up early to enjoy the beach so it did not bother us.

I changed rooms and they were diffrent is size and level of comfort. For example the one near the pool was small and wash room was smelly. I also didn't like the extra charge for Yoga class. I thought it should be free for the guests like in other places. When I booked I thought it's included.

La nostra stanza non aveva le pareti frontali e tra la camera da letto e il bagno. Reception quasi sempre deserta.
La stanza affaccia sulla piscina dell'hotel e con una distesa di palme di fronte, molto suggestivo se il posto fosse silenzioso. Al di là della luce che potrebbe non essere un problema, ogni mattina ci sono dipendenti che lavorano intorno alla piscina facendo molto rumore e ci sono camion che passano di continuo sulla strada su cui affaccia, impossibile dormire. Dopo aver chiesto di cambiare stanza, ci spostano in una familiare con tutte le pareti per fortuna e aria condizionata (non capisco perché una sola stanza sia così), ma la doccia non funzionava. Chiediamo di ripararla e ci viene detto di aspettare 5 minuti. Dopo 30 minuti scopriamo che tutti i dipendenti erano intorno alla piscina chiacchierando. Dopo un'ora finalmente la riparano

Für den Preis hätten wir deutlich mehr erwartet. Insgesamt war alles eher mittelmäßig. Die Möbel wirkten alt und abgenutzt, das Wasser der Dusche wurde nicht richtig warm und das Zimmer war sehr schlicht, ohne jegliche Dekoration. Auch das Frühstück war nur durchschnittlich. Zudem sollte man wissen, dass die offenen Zimmer nicht viel Privatsphäre bieten und man mit Partylärm aus der Umgebung rechnen muss.

The bathroom was grubby, there was only 1 fan that you could only feel when lying in the bed, no air con which we were aware of as it was an open air room. More fans whilst getting ready to go out would be welcomed.
Pool area was also grubby and unkempt and needs some work.

The water was a little bit temperamental in the bathroom, and had a slight smell. The mosquito net had some marks on it and the blinds were not fully working.

Da wir mit zwei kleinen Kinder gereist sind konnten wir uns nicht eben abends wo anders hinsetzten. Das Zimmer hatte zwar einen kleinen Garten der von einer 2,5 m Mauer umgeben war aber es gab keine Stühle zum raussetzten. Wir waren dann im offenen Bad gesessen.. es war sehr sehr hellhörig.

I am not sure that the concept of natural ventilation works when you have to keep the shutters closed due to monkeys. Also the outdoor bathroom was actually quite unpleasant at times as after about 10am the sun beams into the bathroom and it’s really hot.
