Beautiful hotel with superb service and a terrific pool in a location that's not exactly ideal.
Pros:

Friendliest staff I've ever met, who went above and beyond to make sure I had a wonderful time and got to do everything I wanted to do in Monterrico. (Notably: arranged a private ride to the tortugario so I could help release baby sea turtles!) The restaurant was a real treat, super convenient, and the swimming pool was magic - I floated for hours. ADORABLE pets on site, a very cute dog and a few sweet little gatitos.

Cons:

No hot water on site - standard for Guate, but still a bummer, especially when I came back grungy from the beach and had to take a cold shower. Monterrico itself is not the nicest, so I mostly stuck to the hotel.

Beautiful garden, like an oasis. Large pool. Sun lounger and hammocks. Comfortable room.

Cons:

Food and drinks were a little more expensive. Only accepted cash, so we had to walk to the ATM.

Very good
Pros:

The sourrondings were beautiful, lota of vegetation and flowers. Weather was hot and the pool was relaxing.

Cons:

Was charged more for the room than what i was quoted in booking.com. Was xharged $40 more. I think that the place does not honor prices set with Booking.com.

It is a very pretty site that is near the beach and a short walk from the center of town.
Pros:

We like the location near the beach, and the owner was very kind and friendly. Anything we needed help with , she immediately took care of.

Cons:

The bathroom was very basic, and there was no hot water, though it was not really needed because of the warm climate.

All the rooms overlooked the pool, the beach was just across the road and all amenities were within a very short distance from where you were

It was very good.
Pros:

The property has a great pool and a very good breakfast. The owner, Violeta was very helpful. Really appreciated her and Julio taking us to releasing baby turtles.

Cons:

I would have preferred less confusion in regards to payment. The room was reserved via credit card, but they requested payment in Quetzels. I prefer to use my credit card, as the exchange rate of dollars to Quetzels is more efficient to me then using an ATM with its worse rate of exchange and additional fees. Perhaps in the future they might offer instead a discount for cash as they as merchants pay processing fees. I paid for all our other stays in Guatemala via credit card.
