Everything could have done with a clean, the sheets and bed replaced, the taps cleaned and a coat of paint.
I did not stay and left forfeiting my money but found a place suitable to a decent nights sleep.
When we got there the lady at reception, maybe manager/owner looked annoyed to have us there, she translated on google saying that she would have had an event the day after, probably to encourage us to leave (?)
We didn’t have any option and the booking was already finalised and paid. Anyways, again all annoyed, she gave us one key (we booked two room), I have let her notice that we had another room booked, so again with the worse attitude she searched for another key to gave us.
The room was stinky! And definitely not clean, no hot water.
Save your money and spend it elsewhere please
Staff is trying, but they don't have much to work with
Pretty much everything else
Other guests reviews were true.
They said if you book directly, breakfast is included, but not by Booking.com.
According what I had in the room, I am happy not to have breakfast there...anyway.
Smell mold in the room, no toilet paper, no soap. I asked to get them after I checked in.
Comfortable, quiet, felt safe
Good central location
Friendly staff
Difficult to communicate due to my poor Bahasa so hard to get local information / recommendations etc
Very helpful for me if someone spoke English
Location
Not speaking english very well even if its mentioned.
Bathroom was wet and insects came from there.
Everything was great, nice and cozy, comfortable room.
As everything in Sumba (no idea why) it's fairly expensive.
Value for the money was in comparison to another place in Sumba not good at all.
Staff didn't want to give us breakfast because we booked via booking.com
Really strange
Very central
The room smelled so bad that I left after 1 night, very noisy because close to the street
Basic hotel. Nice people.
the shower was smelly and humid
Good location, lovely staff, decent breakfast.
When we checked in the room, the smell there was super bad (coming from restroom and moldy walls). We asked the receptionist to change the room, and they kindly agree to do so. Next room did not have that smell, however the pillow cases were stained with blood and the bed sheets were stained yellow too. The room had mold, the restroom seemed outdated. The bed mattress was so uncomfortable, with some holes inside, and the bed itself was extremely squeaky (many times waking up turning around). It’s a cheap place, however for this money was expecting way more (at least some clean sheets).
Not much to be liked. It's not bad, but really low standard. OK for backpackers.
Last resort if other hotels are booked in the area.
A large, clean room with hot water and a decent breakfast. The best thing was the hospitality, especially the owner (I think her name is Tia) and her nephew, Bintang, who both spoke good English (a luxury in these parts 😃). They were very helpful in organising onward transport and getting a scooter to hire (not as easy as I thought in Waikabubak).
Location close to restaurants
Staff was nice and helpful
We had room 6 at first, it had smelly pipes in the bathroom, covered with Febreze
The lower part of the bed was lower than the rest of the bed, and we could hear the motor of the heater above our heads
We were offered to move to room 2 but the smell was the same and we could hear the traffic noise from the street much more so we stayed in room 6
The following day, we were able to move to room 8, where there was less noise, no bad smell, and a better bed.
The toilet seat was broken though but they replaced it quickly
Breakfast options are not great
in the city center.
breakfast included
it is okay place to stay for a night or two
staff unfortunatly don’t speak english, except one lady, so hope that she will be there.
bathroom would need some renovations
This was good value for Sumba. The staff were really helpful and friendly. Everything worked in the room except the tv. The location was excellent with lots of interesting places within walking distance and some good nearby warungs.
