I gotta be honest with you, this is a place where you will make lasting memories. We usually forget the average experiences. This one is special.
You must take it easy and look at it as fun and funny. It's imperative!
The staff is nonchalant and with a live and let live kinda vibe. They let me check in at 10am, no questions asked, top notch service and all without ever looking up from their phones.
The room itself was it's own adventure. For me as a 1-star hotel passionate, the nail that failed to hold the window shut, added an amusing detail, the musty smell and stained walls vibed with the whole affair perfectly, so it felt like a perfect fit for me.
Ngl, the bed was comfy enough and the sheets clean. The blanket was only about 30cm short to cover the whole length of my 180cm but that didn't matter as the aircon just pretended to be working but actually did squat, so there wasn't any need for a long blanket.
Other than one single deceased cockroach there weren't any pests except for the occasional curious mosquito. Didn't bite though.
When I stay at a room with one single light bulb hanging from the ceiling, I know I am in the right place. This place even had two! Cold light, of course.
The bathroom sported a toilet, a sink and a shower. No exaggeration. Minimalism at its finest. No toilet paper, no towel, no soap. Bring your own or, like me, wait until dry.
Mind you, this review is not sarcastic in any way. Other than the place is a bit pricey, I found myself chuckling continually and I will never forget this place. The absurdity, I loved it! It's like it's so bad, it's great in its own special way. I would honestly stay there again. If you expect western standards in rural Indonesia, you might be in for a surprise. Don't we travel to exit our comfort zones? Aren't we trying to collect memories? This will here serve you just right.
The lady in the cafe/restaurant is lovely and makes a rad nasi goreng.
The shower, although with antedeluvian electric installation, worked flawlessly and was wonderful. An oddity that didn't quite fit in the general picture.
De pouvoir changer de chambre à l'étage la 2ème nuit.
Les odeurs écœurante des toilettes . La vue du caniveau devant les portes des chambres.
Lokasi strategis, dekat kota & tempat-tenpat wisata
Kebersihan & service bisa ditingkatkan lagi, staff terlalu cuek dengan clients, semua harus self service, bahkan disediakan sapu untuk sapu sendiri, lantai koridor hotel kotor sekali
Cheap, great location.
Dirty and you get a small blanket that is not enough for two people
Staff unfriendly, smoking in restaurant despite being asked not to while we had a meal. No towels in the room and noise at 3am from the restaurant area keeping us awake.
Comfortable beds and hot shower with really good preasure on their basic rooms. They have a restaurant in the building which is very convinient and the family that runs the homestay is really friendly and takes care of you. You can also rent scooters with them for a good price.
nothing unfortunately
the room wasn’t clean, the bathroom was smelly. I went to have a shower in the small bathroom and the water came out brown. later on when going to wash my hands, the water from the tap came out practically black, I was horrified. it cleared a little but still came out a light brown, I couldn’t feel clean. the door locks didn’t feel safe and we didn’t feel safe in the location in general. we were aware that this island isn’t touristic but we felt very unsafe on many occasions. the bike we hired from the stay was nearly falling apart, making our exploring always a worry.
we had dinner downstairs at the cafe as we couldn’t find anywhere near by for food- we ordered the noodles and we couldn’t believe what we were served, my partner and I finished them in 3 mouthfuls, I wish I was exaggerating. they weren’t even cheap!
we booked two nights and after the first we left ASAP, we moved onto Oro beach houses-we couldn’t recommended this enough, they were an utter life saver
