Owner very nice and friendly, we have a good chat. Spa has good privacy and nice.
Yes, the hotel is a bit dated but that adds to the charm. The rooms are clean, beds comfortable and have everything you need.
The real reason to stay here is the elderly lady who runs the place. Very welcoming despite the language barrier (google translate is a great help) and goes above and beyond to make sure you have a great stay.
The free private onsen and complentary simple breakfast is a bonus too.
If you want genuine Japanese hospitality away from the chain hotels this is the place.
Ps, get the izakaya tip from the elderly lady which is about 10 min walk away. Great food and drink at a reasonable price in a traditional Japanese boozer.

Nice and spacious room with views of Sakurajima, a little bit dated but very comfortable and clean and the lady managing the hotel is extremely helpful and nice providing 5 star customer service. Conversation via translator app but that works fine.
The owner and her staff made everything possible to make my stay nice and easy.
The onsen was nice with naturally heated water, which is getting rare.

I really enjoyed my stay at Hoshi no Sato and the lady that runs the hotel is very sweet and does a great job. The room I had was wonderful with a nice view over the volcano Karasujima. The private onsen was amazing too and I loved using that! All in all, a nice hotel and I would recommend to others!

This was one of the greatest host we experienced in Japan she and her son really did everything to make us feel at home and taken care of us, even driving us to restaurants to eat dinner every night as the hotel is a 1 kilometre walk on dark road to the restaurants era

A large comfortable room with a beautiful view of Sakurajima. In the room Yakutas with haori are waiting for guests.
In the yard there is an onsen with natural hot springs, a great place to rest and relax.
In addition to the offer, a light breakfast awaits you in the morning - you won't leave hungry.
The host is a very nice lady. To say that the service is absolutely exemplary is an understatement.
Maruo Falls is nearby, it's worth to see.

Room was spacious and parking is free.
Happy to have simple continental breakfast of hard boiled egg and toast, however, it was limited to an egg per person and two slices of bread. For the price paid, I would expect the host to provide more eggs and bread for guests to eat, or at least 2 hard boiled eggs.
Super friendly host who went above and beyond to be more than accommodating with very clean rooms. It’s also very near all the hot spots of kirishima. Making it a convenient base for all your adventures. You get have to the whole onsen to yourself as well.
Good location for going hiking from Ebino Plateau. Staff were very helpful with making sure I was getting on the correct bus, and also bus times when checking out.
It is down the hill behind La Vista Resort, look for the black cat signs.
