Pros:

Ursprünglich hatten wir bereits Wochen im Voraus ein Zimmer im White House Safari Cottage gebucht. Dieses wurde uns aber am Tag der Ankunft per WhatsApp storniert, weil wir keine Safari über sie buchen wollten. So mussten wir schnell eine Alternative für unsere Übernachtung finden und haben das Ibis gefunden - ein wirklicher Glücksgriff. Die Gastgeberin ist super freundlich und das hauseigene Abendessen in der Familienküche sehr lecker und ausreichend. Der Pool ist erfrischend und alles in allem waren wir sehr Happy, dass wir diesen Ort gefunden haben!
Sie hat uns auch eine Safari angeboten, deutlich günstiger als die Optionen im White House Safari Cottage gewesen wären und ohne Kosten für unsere Kinder. Ich kann diese Unterkunft nur empfehlen.

Pros:

The host was super nice and we had some great talks with her over breakfast and dinner. The family apartment was super for our family of 4, with two separate bedrooms. We also liked the pool a lot and the basketball was great fun to play with.
The host also helped us with transport to and from the hotel and safari all with great service and prices. We can highly recommend Ibis especially for its hospitality. And great dinners which were organized for us to eat at the hotel given we have a baby which went to bed early.

Cons:

It could have been s bit cleaner in some corners. And the kitchen in the apartment was not really equipped with anything. But we were offered to get kitchen equipment if we need it

Ubytování vřele doporučuji. Čisté , pohodlné a bazén je to co po safari potřebujete 😄 Majitelé se snaží , aby pobyt byl na 150% což se jim daří . Doporučuji si dát v ubytování večeři . Bude jedna z nejlepších na Srí Lance.

Pros:

Spacious, clean and very comfortable. Large lounge area in our room, hot water and a very comfy bed. Swimming pool was a real luxury to cool down with after a big day in the sun.

Cons:

Pretty close to the main road, so a little traffic noise. But no problem for us

Pros:

The host is very friendly. The pool is nice and the apartment we had was very spacious.
Two bedrooms, one living room, two bathrooms, two toilets and one kitchen!
Dinner was good and breakfast was nice.
When we left for an early safari, the host prepared us a breakfast to take with us.

Cons:

The kitchen was not equipped (no cutlery, no plates etc) and there was no fridge so we could not use the kitchen.
All rooms were very dark as there were no widows.
There was a strange unpleasant smell in all rooms- probably due to zero aeration in the apartment.
You have to pay in cash. The credit card machine is broken.

Big room with two AC units. The hotel helped us organize an amazing safari and provided a take away safari breakfast very early in the morning. Good pool and the staff were very friendly and spoke good English. We could choose western or Sri Lankan breakfast.

Pros:

A super friendly and helpful host, who made us really welcome. The pool was a great bonus - just what we needed after a long days travel. Room was very large, very comfortable and had great facilities. We even had our evening meal here at a reasonable cost. Very good accommodation - would definitely stay again if I was in the area.

They do their own safari tours but we had already booked one with a different company prior to arrival, so didn't get the chance to go with them.

Cons:

Nothing. All good. We left very early - a packed up breakfast would have been nice, but definitely not a deal breaker

Ibis, a nice stay
Pros:

The hosts were fabulous and couldn't do enough, and the meals (we ate there) were also very good, plentiful and excellent value.

Cons:

The town itself has very little to offer, which has no reflection on the hotel, but means you rely on it a little more, and the rooms, although comfortable, are lacking. With only one electrical point, no music, no TV, no tea/coffee, etc, meant relaxing in the room was less comfortable.

Perfect for families
Pros:

After arriving at a booking that did not meet our expectations, we had a quick reshuffle and found Ibis. It was a very last minute booking so when we arrived the rooms were still being cleaned. During this time we were greeted with hospitality and welcome drinks.
Our rooms were perfect for our needs and the clean pool was an added bonus.
Our host Saranga was exceptional, and there for our every need.

Cons:

The only down side was breakfast wasn’t on par with all of our other stays.

Welcoming Ibis
Pros:

We are Paola and Silvano from Italy, travelling through Sri Lanka by bicycle. We spent three nights at Ibis and were welcomed by Sarangha as if we were family. Sarangha and her husband Sarath are very kind and helpful people, always smiling. Sarangha took care of us with grace and kindness, always ready to respond to every need, from the tuk tuk to the safari. The most important thing is that she told us that she could organize it for us at a good price (excluding the entrance ticket to the park) but without any obligation, initially we did not want to organize it and instead, after visiting the Elephant Transit Home, we changed our minds, it was an excellent choice and also the person who accompanied us was kind and trustworthy. We also had dinner at Ibis, very tasty home made meals and also a good breakfast.
The room was confortable clean and spacious, we chose the one at ground floor, but there are also at the first floor with balcony. We also could do the laundry.
We didn't use the pool, but it's very scenic and relaxing even if you don't want to swim.
We also had some time to talk with Sarangha and Sarath and it was really interesting share some experiences with this lovely family. Thank you very much for everything!
