The room (second floor double) was small but very clean and comfortable. Free parking behind the main street was easy to find (approach from Morrisons, not from the High Street). Location is really handy for shops, restaurants, pubs etc.
Full English breakfast was excellent and included in the price.
Our confirmation email said there was a continental breakfast included. Actually the Full English is included, which was a nice surprise, but we would have appreciated correct information in advance. We almost didn't choose the Full English because we didn't realise it was included.

The location was perfect for work. There was a free car park at the back of the property. Evening meal was excellent. Breakfast was delicious. The bar and restaurant were popular and cosy. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room and decor was in keeping with the property: a mix of traditional and modern.
The room was a bit cold but there were heaters and radiators but this was to be expected in an old building.
As I was there for work, I would have liked a desk in my room instead of a chest of drawers.

Unclean room , stains on carpets paint missing from the walls , running water yellow from the free standing bath , windows covered in mould , staff no interaction no customer service , understand this is a old hotel with old furniture ect but you can still be clean , rooms smell very foisty , breakfast included but continental not like most hotels which would be full English breakfast , would I return probably not

I really enjoyed my stay at Lairds House and will definitely come back if I have other professional commitments in the area. The room was very clean and tastefully decorated, and I loved the overall decor of the hotel and dining area. It is clear that a lot of thought has been put into this. The room was very clean, the mattress and pillows very comfortable and I had a great night's sleep. Staff are friendly and helpful.

The food was nicely cooked and presented.
We were in the accessible room (only because it was the last available, not through necessity). The sink was very low, we understand it’s for wheelchair users but I was almost on my knees to use it. The shower had plenty of hot water but lacked pressure - you needed to almost lean against the wall to get showered. The hand held was even worse.
Breakfast on weekdays is continental only. I was quite disappointed about that as we weren’t aware. That’s not saying it’s not written anywhere, but we didn’t see it if it was.
