Very rustic - not for the faint of heart though
Beautiful scenery down the valley
Cabins were comfy - loved it !
Homemade meal cooked by owner on request x
Should be warnings not to leave food in the room - some type of critter managed to knaw a hole in our rucksack to get to some fruit
All part of the wild camping experience!
The food and hospitality was amazing.
The tree house needs to be maintained well.
Super tranquil experience, high up in the jungle.
The location was idyllic especially in the tropical rain.
We really enjoyed bird watching from the balcony, and the food at the cafe / breakfast.
Really accessible and the hosts were so helpful. Such a great escape!
The owners were extremely nice, welcoming and helpful from the first minute, we really would like to thank for that (and so sorry for the glass).
The breakfast was awesome, always something new. We also tried multiple dinner options and all was very tasty. We liked the fact the tree house is really in the middle of the jungle, surrounded by nature. You have full privacy and it's extremely peaceful. Very unique experience. We also took a 1 hour walk to the closeby river and saw different animals e.g. a beautiful green cameleon.
Overal, our experience was great, but you need to consider this is a jungle accomodation. Don't come here if you are afraid of insects and animals
.
A/C was not working properly and the hot water can be a bit tricky, but you can ask for help at the reception.
Location super
Not comfortable and cleaned..look like the abounded,
May be staff should be consider the property cleaness more.
We arrived as requested by the host by 4:30 PM. However, the room given to us was not very satisfactory. There was dust, the linen was not that clean, and the place was totally infested with ants. We politely informed the host about the situation, stating that the room was not very suitable as a clean room. Additionally, there was no Wi-Fi, no hot water, and no kettle. The host decided to arrange a room in a neighboring facility and made a full refund.
The most upsetting aspect was the lack of adequate cleanliness, and the washroom was really less private, with an open net side wall on one side.
The Tree House is one of two and located in a fabulous jungle/tea estate setting. Morning bird walks were excellent, as were hikes down to the river at the bottom of the property, ideal for river baths. Great view from the Tree House (make sure to keep windows shut when not in the room - there are monkeys in the estate), and even better, no mosquitoes at night, so you can keep the windows open to let in invigorating mountain air.
Had 2 delicious breakfasts with the hosts and some very interesting conversations. Thank you Shehan, Pavithra and Binal.
If you have a vehicle with a driver, probably more practical for him to stay at the nearby town of Ginigathena. My driver was reluctant to drive the ~2km to his accomodation on the estate because of road conditions, which meant he had to call (and pay for) a 3 wheeler tuktuk whenever I needed him.
Incredible location with unspoilt views over unspoilt jungle. The hosts were so welcoming, providing delicious food and giving information about the area.
Superb location. Stunning surroundings. The most lovely hosts you could ever imagine. We had dinner and breakfast in their family home which was such a treat. Very convenient location for rafting, etc
Not a complaint, but be aware that rooms are fairly small and simple. But worth the compromise to be in the jungle surrounded by peace and serenity
10 things we liked.
1. The stairs downwards to the treehouse were made out of concrete and had light bulbs.
2. The balcony had greater view than we expected, the jungle energy is surreal.
3. The bed sheets were clean and steam ironed.
4. There was a warm shower.
5. There were native old trees around the treehouse.
6. Felt like a personal, private service which made this experience more rich and valuable.
7. They worked as tour guide on the side, and they were veru helpful helping us get to our next destination.
8. The tea/coffee presentation was amazing as well as the seating.
9. Nice family that we supported by staying there, not some corporation.
10. I liked that there was River Cafe right next to the place.
1. There was a large sound when closing the balcony door at night.
2. The shower curtain was dirty and the water pipes towards the shower head, if we could move the shower curtains we could watch out into the nature while showering which would make up for a great experience!
3. Some trash on the side of the house.
4. The insect net around the bed was a bit short so it kept getting off at night, making us insect paranoid people not feeling that much secure while sleeping.
Middle in the jungle with true nature. No disturbing from the outside world. If you want to interact with nature this is one of the best places out there .
Minor issue with electricity due to rural area . But its nothing when you are surrounded by true nature.
We had a lovely stay! The location is amazing, quiet and peaceful. We came for a few days of rest and the location was perfect for this. The room has a great view and you can walk to the river, owners are really friendly and could tell us a lot about the environment and fauna (and more tips for our stay in Sri Lanka - thanks guys!). The food was delicious and we were really happy we could do our laundry. Recommendable!
It’s good to know that you have to walk up and down hill, and some steep steps, from the main house to the accommodation.
Best place to stay in the center of SriLanka
Owners are great people. My baggage was lost, and they gave us their closes! Helped us with the taxi and feed us with a great breakfast.
It is a beautiful place with a view to the waterfall. It is the closest place to the nature you can find.
Wanna thank the owners one more time!
Wonderful location with best hospitality
Have a beatifull views surrounded by nature.
Way over valued.
Unfortunately it was what we expected.. the room wasn't ready when we got there we had to wait almost an hour.
The room is very basic, the windows for the beautiful view were dirty and there's nothing to heat water for a hot drink.. the hot shower wasn't working and not top sheet...
When we went for dinner they served us experience dishes and small plates of food, and spicy, although we had said we didn't want spicy food. There was a miss understanding and they give us a plate of COLD rice to go with our food.. which they then charged for !!!
Breakfast was 40mins late although we had said what we wanted and what time we wanted in the night before.. but it's was good and tasty.
Come to billing time.. the bill isn't ready for us although the tuktuk is waiting and they know what to charge us.. Get your bill ready ! And then they wanted to charge us "Service charge" for the bedroom as well as the meal ! We ending up discussing the service charges and still paying 18000rps for one night! That's the most we have ever payed in this country and we had to pay for the hot drinks which are included in the most modest accommodations of sri lanka.....
Other than that, you are in beautiful nature with fantastic view. And the WiFi in the main building worked well !
The worst was that the host was impolite to us at the end and ignored us when we calmy tried talking over the billing issue...
