Comfortable, welcoming, good food; I would happily stay here again.
Pros:

Spotlesssly clean and comfortable room, friendly staff, the meal I had in the evening was very good and the service could not be faulted. Close to the centre of town and on the north side so not far to walk to the theatre either.

Cons:

No complaints.

A wonderful stay in a small and friendly hotel.
Pros:

The hotel is charming in a perfect location. Beautiful bedding and linen. Very clean and stylish. The bar isn't very big but was great. The restaurant and outside seating area are just gorgeous. We dined there in the evening with friends and had a superb meal. The staff were a delight.

Cons:

I was staying in room 3, a Standard Double (my friend in room 5, a Superior Double). My room was cosy but I was fine as I was on my own! My friend's room was enormous by comparison. The room is overlooked by the opposite building and it would be preferable to have "bottom up" blinds so you can let in natural light while getting ready. It was a little noisy from the street below when I went to bed but, given the location, this is to be expected.

Overnight stay at Purchases
Pros:

Location is great for exploring Chichester. Room was well equipped for one night stay. Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent, very tasty full English with good service.

Cons:

Our double room was at the front of property and we did experience a little late night noise.

Well located small hotel with good, comfy facilities and friendly staff.
Pros:

Central location and friendly staff. The well appointed Bathroom/shower was well stocked with products and towels and had a strong shower. Good supply of amenities (coffee, tea, water)in the room too. The staff were very friendly and efficient. The Bar had a very wide selection of wines and spirits!

Cons:

The room was booked as a standard double for 2 people, but it was fortunate that I was travelling alone and for one night only as the room would have been a tight fit for 2 people. But it was fine for me on my own.

Convenient, comfortable, clean with courteous kind staff.
Pros:

The room was large, well furnished with stylish decoration. Spotlessly clean and quiet with very obliging staff.
Great food, breakfast and evening meal with good service.

Cons:

There were two flights of stairs to the rooms…. No lift, as it is an old house.

We came for the weekend to celebrate our anniversary, and were very happy with everything.
Pros:

The location was amazing, right on the high street which was great for pottering about and eating out / drinking in Chichester. Also great for driving out to the beach / quays which were only 20 mins away. Hotel was really lovely and the staff very attentive. Breakfast was very tasty! The coffee machine in the room was a welcome bonus!

A towncentre gem with amazing rooms, a restaurant and bar and welcoming staff.
Pros:

Purchases is a beautful period townhouse with large airy rooms that have been equipped to a very high standard. Its a joy to stay here as the staff are friendly and welcoming and an excellent breakfast is served downstairs in the dining room.
There is also a restaurant and bar downstairs which we didn't have time to try this time.

Cons:

Thr price has increased over one year quite substantially but the rooms have been refurbished to a very high standard

Disappointing compared to previous stays.
Pros:

The staff were very cheerful and helpful. The location in Chichester is very central.

Cons:

We have stayed here many times and it has been wonderful. However, on this occasion, things were not how we were expecting.
We were in a very small room for the price, it was too hot and the only way to cool down was keeping windows open (in April), not ideal with the noise of the town outside. We had to run the shower for a long time to stop the temperature fluctuating which almost resulted in the slow drain flooding the bathroom. There were cobwebs in the room and behind the bedside cabinets hadn’t been dusted for some time. (As in the photo.)
We were told the incorrect time for breakfast which wasn’t the end of the world but was inconvenient and I’m afraid for the money, breakfast was disappointing. I would expect an artisan loaf for toast not a supermarket sliced for example.
This was definitely not a £174 a night experience and very disappointing compared to our previous enjoyable stays.
