Trotz lesen aller Referenzen war ich überrascht
Pros:

Das Hotel liegt grundsätzlich sehr schön in einer Fussgängerzone, was auf den ersten Blick attraktiv wirkt. Der öffentliche Parkplatz befindet sich jedoch etwa 5 Gehminuten entfernt. Leider wird bei Booking.com nicht klar zwischen öffentlichen und privaten Parkplätzen unterschieden, sodass mir bei der Buchung nicht bewusst war, dass sich das Hotel in einer Fussgängerzone befindet. Zudem ist der Parkplatz Nr. 6 näher am Hotel als Nr. 7 – diese Information wäre ebenfalls hilfreich gewesen.

Cons:

Der Fussweg vom Parkplatz zum Hotel ist im letzten Stück steil ansteigen und Rollkoffer funktionieren nicht so gut auf Pflastersteinen. Dazu kommt, dass die öffentlichen Parkplätze oft stark ausgelastet sind. Nach dem längeren Fussmarsch musste ich feststellen, dass die Klimaanlage im Zimmer nicht funktionierte. Auf Nachfrage erklärte die Besitzerin, dass in dieser Jahreszeit keine Klimaanlage benötigt werde und ich stattdessen einfach das Fenster öffnen solle.
Das stellt jedoch ein Problem dar: Öffnet man das Fenster, wird man durch den Lärm aus der Fussgängerzone gestört. Lässt man es geschlossen, entsteht eine unangenehme, stickige Luft im Zimmer. Dieses Dilemma setzt sich auch nachts fort, da sich immer wieder Passanten laut bemerkbar machen, was die Schlafqualität deutlich beeinträchtigt.
Insgesamt ist die Lage zwar optisch reizvoll, bringt aber erhebliche praktische Nachteile mit sich, die den Aufenthalt negativ beeinflussen.

Superb views of the Sa Marino countryside from our balcony
Pros:

The view of the surrounding countryside from the balcony was exceptional. Whilst breakfast was not included, it could be purchased in an on-site cafe.

Cons:

The shower was tiny and trickyto negotiate. Whilst the location, just below the First Tower, provided excellent views and access to the whole old town, it was difficult to reach without own transport. Although walkable in theory, it is really strenuous to navigate the slopes and steps carrying bags or suitcases. It is not an easy hotel to find.

Pros:

The hotel was located in the old center of town and can easily be reached by a short walk from the public parking. The hotel staff were very friendly and gave us an upgrade to a room with a spectacular view. The room was modern and comfortable

Equisite hotel with style, comfort, cleanliness and a remarkably responsive staff and owners.
Pros:

Everything about Hotel La Rocca is outstanding. Fully modern rooms with exquisite taste, exceptionally clean everywhere, very comfortable beds, amazingly friendly and responsive owners and staff, a few minutes walk from parking lots, and a full cafe restaurant overlooking the main street leading up to the Towers. About as perfect a property in the magical country of San Marino. Can’t wait to return!

Wonderful host, great location, breathtaking view!
Pros:

The hostess, Donatella, is wonderful. She answered my questions ahead of time and treated us with her warm greetings and smiles every day of our stay. She makes the visit to San Marino extra special. The room is cozy ad comfortable and the view is absolutely breathtaking. Book a room with a view! Worth every cent.
