Great Hospitality. Room for improvement but Great Value for Money.
Pros:

Okay, so first of all the stay was made enjoyable by the staff. The staff I always find at a Chef and Brewer to be lovely and I was not disappointed. They are always relatable. The room was a bit of a disappointment but only because I have never had a tired room at a Greene King stay. The bed was uncomfortable and springs were felt but the sheets were clean and the pillows good. The remote needed batteries, and the TV is not a smart TV which is a bit annoying as these days people like choice. The spot lighting made a noise like a plane taking off. The teas and coffee choices were great. Water was available at the bar FOC so why not put a bottle in every room. As a woman travelling alone I didn't like that the downstairs door didn't automatically shut and my bedroom door Fire Door mechanism was slow to close. The windows and decor was tired. Bathroom tiling new yet walls with old paint. A white wash would have made a big difference, the bath outlet had no cover, and the new grouting mould. No shampoo or toiletries other than all purpose wash available. But again, £50 in this climate it was more than enough. It just needs some investment. Finally special thank you for the hospitality and laugh with the fantastic bar manager. He was great but I forgot to get his name. First class. Thank you. Your kindness was needed !

Cons:

I have said above. The only other thing was there was a smell in the corridor I was in and all windows were open and I think that was on purpose but meant it was cold ..... It was the only corridor where I could see with windows open so maybe not put people in these rooms for a while until improved.
