I only ever eat a simple breakfast of toast and marmalade with coffee. It arrived within minutes of ordering it.
Staff were very attentive and kind to my disabled mother getting around inside the pub, and for this alone I would return. The cottage was small but comfortable and the view was lovely.

Great location. The pub is so quaint and lovely. The accommodation was really reasonable in price and we really enjoyed the views from the living area. Cosy and quiet.
The bed was a bit creaky which usually wouldn’t be the end of the world but we had our baby in the travel cot in the same room so we were conscious of waking her up. Extractor fan in en suite was rattling through the night.
The location was deep in the countryside, as we’d hoped. We loved the decor, it was sophisticated, tasteful and somewhat unusual. Everything was selected with great care, complementing the venerable age of the hotel. Our room was gorgeous, aesthetically pleasing, a real pleasure to spend the night there. The restaurant food (and breakfast) was good too. The staff were friendly and helpful. Returning!
Great deal in a beautiful location.
Sofa bed was a bit hard but ok.
Amazing food, staff and overall pub / accomadation. Can't wait to go back.
Few marks in the room but nothing major

Very good little bungalow with its own kitchen and sitting area
Poor upkeep. Not cleaned to a high standard at all.
Could be so so much better.
Bed was noisy when turning in the night
Toilet is basically on top of the radiator.
Heating doesn’t come in until 8:30am
Staff, drinks and the food
The room was very narrow.

Expensive,
The staff at The Bear Inn are terrific: it’s a family-run business and nothing was too much trouble. You soon will get to know everyone’s name a they will remember yours; it’s the little things that set a small country Inn apart from the bigger and soulless enterprises. Check-in was easy and, although we originally planned to stay for a couple of days, we were made so welcome, decided to stay for two more. Our day always started with an excellent and leisurely breakfast which really set us up for a day of exploring and visiting attractions. There is lots to see and do in the local area; you can dive underground into some of the local guided cave attractions, ride in vintage cars, trams and trains, or fly through the air in a cable car. Back at The Bear Inn and after a full day out, you can wind down with the delights of a superb and varied menu, all washed down with well kept ale. The Bear Inn is a really old coaching house, steeped in history; lots of small rooms with exposed beams and fireplaces, make for a cozy and comfortable place to stay or just eat out. So, the next time we looking for places to stay in Derbyshire, The Bear Inn is right at the top our list.
The food was top quality, bar staff were exceptional. Beer was much cheaper than expected. Very welcoming young man on arrival showed us to our property. So quiet and clean air. First time for ages I’ve seen star constellations with my bare eyes as there was no light pollution.
