Location was good
Not very welcoming very old and not really somewhere I would stay again didn’t dare touch anything especially the windows
Location
Stayed here a few times now and it doesn't disappoint great location and price, yes there is no ensuite but you know this when booking and the shared facilities are always clean.
Superb location. Spotless bedding and towels
Rooms in need of refurbishment asap
Communal stairways were in need of a good clean
The location was handy for Scarborough Open Air Theatre. Would stay there again.
The seagull noise from 6am onwards. Not the fault of Black Lion at all, but it was a noisy location.
Liked the location, very central. Bed was comfortable and the room was a good size.
No en-suite which is dont feel was made clear when booking. Hotel itself is dated and in need of a refurb.
Nothing
It smelt
Location was good. Right in the centre of town close to shops and sea front.
We expected our own toilet and bathroom. Not to have to share with other guests. And only little hand towels provided.
Had to go up three flights of scruffy stairs to our room. The accomodation is tatty and clearly hasn't moved into the 21st century yet.
And it wasn't cheap either!
The room was spacious and the bed was comfy.
The curtain rail was hanging off , no plug socket near the mirror and the communal toilets/shower ,in need of some TLC was the room, wallpaper hanging off.
Get what you pay for, very comfortable beds and clean. Good location, less then 10 minutes walk from the beach and amenities on the door step 🙂
Not amazing interior (wall paper pealing off and cracks) however ya get what you pay for and for 4 people £90 a night was spot on!
Nothing it waa like walking into a squat!!
Unclean waa grotty, ceiling paper held up witg drawing pins all the furniture had been hand painted and was badly stained. I honeatly have never stayed in anywere as bad!!
Nothing
We were mid sold our accomation we paid for a family room and got put in a 2x single room with no bathroom
Location.
All the guests were met by a disgruntled barmaid, who kept telling us our rooms weren’t ready, an hour and a half after check in time one of the guests went upstairs to where the rooms are only to be told by the manager that the rooms had been ready 2 and half hours earlier. Non of the guest and myself were given keys to the rooms, we had to work out who was having what room. It was ridiculous!
Location and price
A bit run down
Nice pub easy to get to from the train. Close to shops
Comfortable bed
TV was not working
Toilets could have been cleaner in the toilet bowl.
