Location and facilities were brilliant and all staff were very helpful and friendly. Gluten free requirements handled well.
A little disappointed not to be offered à la carte breakfast menu (as we were on our previous stay). The buffet options offered sufficient but nothing outstanding.

I had a smelly room which didn’t go away sadly
Staff attentive, friendly and paid attention to detail. Hotel stunning. Food lovely. Beautiful surroundings
Bit of an unpleasant smell (drains) coming from the bathroom. Windows would only open a few inches which was very unpleasant in the heatwave.
Whilst the facilities were bright light and airy it was wonderful that the historic Abbey was still accessible. It was great to be able to wander around and look at the architecture and art.
In the hot weather, our room was very hot and stuffy and we were unable to open the windows more than 6 inches. There was a fan which we were grateful for, but it was very noisy and didn’t allow a good night’s sleep. However, I would stay here again but just not in the hot weather!
Location and a beautiful historical building. Bedroom was pleasant although Mum had no ac in room. Friendly and attentive staff.
Breakfast room had food debris under tables at beginning of service and breakfast poor. Attention to cleanliness required. Food average. Bar menu basic and restaurant expensive.
The property was beautiful, amazing grounds, spotless, pleasant and professional.
Excellent breakfast
Limited food menu
£58 for a ribeye steak
I really enjoyed the hotel, and the location of the hotel. I enjoyed all the different areas, the style of the hotel. I was there for a wedding so it was very well managed the whole wedding. I thoroughly enjoyed being at stanbrook Abby, but I feel as though my experience was heightened solely because of the wedding. I appreciate the accommodating nature of the staff, as they arranged for ac unit to be put in my room. And also bar staff accommodating the attempt to make me a pina colada. When it didn’t exist on menu.
I didn’t enjoy the lack of AC in the rooms. I didn’t enjoy the food options. Breakfast was very very basic. I would not travel to stanbrook Abby to stay there for just a weekend break unfortunately.
Stanbrook Abbey is a beautiful hotel. With its rich history and well-preserved features, it’s a luxurious stay and so much fun to explore. The staff is very welcoming. The breakfast is also delicious! I would definitely recommend.
Room was a bit hot due to heatwave, but the staff did their best to help to make it as comfortable as possible!
Lovely room.
Lovely room, didn't get much sleep as far too hot with no air conditioning. We had a fan but made so much noise.
Absolutely beautiful hotel. The grounds are gorgeous. The hotel has embraced this historical building to make it an exceptional and interesting place to stay.
