Beautiful former convent/abbey with lovely features and gorgeous gardens.
Room was small and air con unit too noisy to leave on all night so very hot.
The room was a good size, with air conditioning. Tea coffee making facilities with a good selection 👌. Fridge to keep your water, milk etc cool. Iron and ironing board in wardrobe as well as a hairdryer. There was a safe inside the wardrobe if needed.
The bathroom was huge with a double wash hand basin, it had a walkin shower and a roll top bath also a while. Clean towels every day. Parking on-site.
At breakfast time in The Refectory they have a water and juice station, but no glasses at hand. All glasses on the table, would make more sense to be with the drinks.
I loved the hotels history and the accessibility to it all. The grounds were lovely for the dog. .The room was fab. Food was lovely I will be back !
Could do with a spa 😁
Everything was fine, although the bar was very warm due the the nice weather - the saving grace was that there was air con in the restaurant.
Bedroom was on small size
Interesting building. Very friendly staff. Great location. Lots of parking space . Good food and service at breakfast.
Standard rooms are small. Double bed is small . Room decor is dark and gloomy . Room was showing signs of wear and tear and there were cobwebs in the bathroom. My wife and I both felt totally underwhelmed when we walked in. We requested a room change but even the best alternative room available on the 1st floor wasn't much better.
It was a humid evening and the room fan was adequate but very noisy so we had to switch it off to get any sleep. The windows only opened with a small gap for ventilation. Even then , the blind had to be pulled down as the room could otherwise be viewed through the window from another room nearby.
Ok for one night only and definately not good value for money.
Having air conditioning made the stay so much easier. We had a dog to keep cool so the room was perfect. The staff were well trained and clearly enjoyed their work. So welcoming and helpful.
Nothing to complain about, we liked everything. To make more use of the outside bar space in hot weather a sail shade would work beautifully.
Staff were all fantastic and the hotel's major plus. Helpful, friendly and efficient.
The room was not very clean, with cobwebs on the lampshades and outside of the windows. Some lunatic had designed the room with a smoke detector right above the bed which flashed a white light at 10 second intervals throughout the night. I complained to reception who promised 'maintenance' would look into it but nothing happened. While we may stay at the hotel again we would not accept room 201!
Beautiful setting, friendly staff
Beautiful place and very peaceful
Nothing
The location it was very peaceful and beautiful. Loved everything about our stay.
Very smooth from checking in to checking out.
Not enough time there.
The building itself. How comfy the bed was. How clean the property was.
I loved it was one of the best in terms of the hotel room, views and location.
The advertised room the photos make the lounge area look seperate to ths bedroom but thats not the case its one room.
Breakfast although nice, not service you would expect. Shoild be made to order.
Service day 1 in breakfast was great
Service day 2 was rubbish
To say it waa my birthday on the saturday most hotels would give you complimentry wine or a card nothing from stanbrook.
Lovely driveway up to a superb gem period building
Not much
Really great reception staff. Both helpful, caring and professional. The hotel has charm and modern conveniences.
Fantastic building , lots of history and very well kept Grounds.Dinner in the bar was good. Staff were very pleasant.
Breakfast was a little dissapointing, quite bland and limited buffet choice.
During our stay the weather was very hot and the room had portable AC, which was very noisy although essential.
