Lovely place yes its old but fab character great location stayed in room 2 big airy room with a lovely four poster bed very comfortable,no shower just a bath but wasnt a problem for us ,good breakfast ,clean ,friendly staff had a good laugh on arrival with the young chap yes it's me who thought you take the door handle with you 🙈 🤣
Nothing not to like in my opinion I'd stay again
It's a characterful hotel with some good historic features - 'Interior: good Elizabethan enriched oak mantels, fireplaces, panelling etc, C18 staircase. An historic house (deeds dated 1501 in British Museum)' - this from Historic England. Breakfast was acceptable.
Room 12 was compact to say the least, and the door lock was erratic. But most astonishing was the view, or absence of - the only 'windows' were about 7ft up the wall and opened into the roof space.
Homely comfortable room set I old historical building, friendly greeting by the staff and good buffet breakfast. This is our second stay.
