Decent stay for one night
Pros:

On the trail down to Grindelwald. Restaurant on location.

Günstiges Zimmer im Massenschlag. Die Leute waren super diszipliniert und ruhig. Direkt an der Via Alpina 1.

Cons:

Leider fährt der Bus ins Dorf nur bis 19 h. Man kann also nicht ins Dorf zum Abendessen. Zu Fuss ist es Ca. 45 min

- ein Spiegelei beim Frühstück gehen Aufpreis muss nicht sein
- der Fön war defekt und am Abend keiner mehr da in der Rezeption

Stayed here whilst hiking. It was a lovely place with a very nice room. There are also some self catering facilities available which we used to safe some money.

Pros:

Although not in town location is fantastic. Its just outside national park and can go hiking straight away. Probably the cheapest beer i had in CH and was tasting good. Breakfast was good. Helpful staff and great memories. Would come back!

Cons:

Last bus just after 6pm so have to rush to get 121 bus which is inconvenient. Places outside the town so can't get groceries. Beware since its shared room someone can to snore and disturb sleep!

Prisvärt hotell med bra restaurang. Vackra omgivningar. Enkel men helt ok frukost. Bra rum med nyrenoverat badrum. Goda bussförbindelser dagtid. Gratis parkering precis utanför.

Cons:

Personalen i receptionen var inte vänlig. Hotellets övre rum är besvärliga att ta sig upp till, tungt med packning och inget för rörelsehindrade personer. Endast en kudde på rummet

Not worth the money, too far out of centre and bad breakfast with flies

We were really disappointed with our stay and unfortunately don’t feel it was worth the money.

There were so many flies all over the breakfast buffet that it completely put us off eating it. I understand this is part of nature but there was no attempt being made to get rid of the flies at all, other places had fans and incense to minimise them. Even without that, the breakfast selection was very poor for the price charged, so it felt like a waste of money.

Another major downside was the location. After 6pm, the bus stops running, making it incredibly difficult to get back to the hotel. We waited a long time for a taxi, and when one finally arrived we had to pay 45 CHF for a journey of no more than 10 minutes. For a hotel that’s so far from the city centre, a shuttle service should really be provided for guests.

Overall, we wouldn’t recommend staying here. You’re much better off paying for a hotel in the city centre where you can easily walk to restaurants and attractions without the hassle and expense of finding transport.

Pros:

Hotel is basic but works well for motor cycle travellers. Lots of shelf space in room for our gear . The bus pass for travel into town was very helpful. Buses run every half hour to bus station and connections to Eiger Express and train station. The restaurant serves decent food. Onsite parking is free

Cons:

Could do with some fly control in the breakfast room

Beautiful remote location. Very modest breakfast.
Pros:

A remote location, perfect for getting away from the crowds. Yet, literally on a bus stop.
Private parking, including electronic outlet.
Amazing view.

Cons:

Most staff were nice but there was one (older) lady who was very rude during breakfasts.
Also, breakfast is very limited in variety. The smallest out of all hotels visited in Switzerland. Although it’s between 7-10, when arrived at 8:30 most of the food was gone (including eggs and soft drinks). No refills were offered. Had to go into town to eat.
