Holiday Suites Port Barton

Rooms are slightly tired and weren't entirely clean.

J’ai passé 3 nuits dans cet hôtel et cela n’a pas été de tout repos. Juste au dessous de la chambre il y avait un coq qui a chanté du lever du jour au coucher du soleil à intervalle régulier toutes les 30 secondes ! De plus, le samedi à partir de 18 heures jusqu’à minuit, il y a un bar qui diffuse une musique tellement forte que la porte vitrée vibrait !
Le petit déjeuner est très basique. C’est la première fois que dans un hôtel on vous demande de payer le sachet de thé au petit déjeuner !!! Les joints de la salle de bain sont moisis. Même pas une chaise dans la chambre. Vu le prix de la chambre, tout cela n’est pas acceptable. Le personnel n’est pas très sympathique. Dommage car c’est le seul hôtel qui possède une piscine.

I was informed two days before my check-in that the hotel pool was temporarily closed due to urgent repairs. I appreciated the advance notice and hoped the repairs would be completed by the time I arrived. Unfortunately, during my 2-night stay, the pool was still being slowly refilled and remained unusable the entire time.

The pool with the view was one of the main reasons I chose this hotel, so it was disappointing not to be able to enjoy it. No compensation or discount was offered, even though a key facility was unavailable.

Aside from this, the rest of the stay was fine, but the lack of access to a major amenity definitely affected the overall value and experience.

Small space

Our honest review, bad experience. We stayed for 2 nights. The room itself was clean, but everything else was horrible.

We rented a scooter. This was arranged by the hotel. We got the scooter without gas. The only reply we get is to go to a tankstation nearby. Maybee our standards are to high, but the least would be a full thank of gas and offcourse we return it with a full tank of gas. This was no problem on Siquijor where we also rented a scooter.

You can’t eat or relax in the hotel/beach, because there are always at least 5 streetdogs roaming arround begging for food. We also feel that the ground was dirty for a longer time.

The food itself was okay. But the waiting time for the food was too long. It even took so long that we couldn’t eat beakfast on the day we left, because we had an arranged transfer to El Nido at 08:00 AM. We ordered arround 07:00 AM. Waiting an hour is not normal.

About the transfer. We asked for a transfer to our hotel in El Nido. This was no problem. A van will drive us to the hotel. We had plenty of space and airconditioning. This was not the case. We were packed like sardines without airconditioning. After 3 hours we hear from the driver that he will not bring us to our hotel. He just doesn’t do those transfers. The frustration level was high. We normaly don’t write reviews, but this one is neccessary.

The resort could be a fantastic place. It’s very beautiful from far, but so horrible from nearby.

Think twice when you book. We are sure there are much better resorts in Port Barton.

Liked everything.

Room facilities weren't up to standard. The door was not latching, leaks in the bathroom couldn't be fixed, sheets doesn't smell clean, wall TV was only being held in place by the kettle, room phone was not working, wifi signal doesn't reach the rooms, water stopped in the middle of a cold shower, the water heater does not function. There was always water in the steps going to the room, very unsafe. The next door property looks like an abandoned house but seemed to be operational with washers that makes loud noises. Not a very pleasant view for the guests. Pancit canton was very salty.

The only thing that I can say is the bed was rock hard. I lay down on it and thought no I can't sleep on this. Realised on closer inspection that both the single mattresses that were put together as a king were upside down. Pulled the bed apart turned them over and remade. Was a bit better. The hotel is amazing to but have the beds dampen the experience spend some money on some mattress toppers! Those type of mattresses that you have you can't turn them over they are one sided even though they don't look like they are. ( I've worked in hotels for 13 years only reason I sorted the bed myself lol)

Very limited choice of foods and stray dogs constantly walking around your table begging for food. There was no control over access to the hotel on stray dogs which looked ill and did their necessities in the area where guests were eating.

Could of been a bit cleaner
Breakfast could of been better aswell as service

The shower in our room didn't work properly

We were woken by noisy roosters each morning and needed ear plugs. That's not the hotels fault as there are roosters everywhere in the town.

Loud music and the room was not well soundproofed.
