Very nice and friendly pub.
Pros:

Room very clean. Bed and pillows comfortable. Plenty of tea and coffee supplied. Staff polite and courteous.

Cons:

The room was a little dark. One of the bulbs in the small lamp had blown, and no ceiling light.

Location is good and rooms were clean

Cons:

We were only informed about the entertainment night just 2 days before arrival, which is completely unacceptable. Had this been made clear at the time of booking, we would never have chosen this property.

We expected some level of noise given that the room is above a pub — that’s completely understandable. However, what we were not told, and what is not advertised, is that there would be live band events directly beneath the rooms.

Our room was located right above the event, and we were travelling with a baby. The result was virtually no sleep all night, with loud music continuing until midnight. This goes far beyond normal pub noise and is something guests should be clearly warned about in advance.

It’s extremely misleading that this isn’t properly communicated when booking, especially for families or anyone expecting a restful stay.

To make matters worse, when we raised the issue and asked about moving to a quieter room, the staff were rude and unhelpful, offering no real solution.

If you’re looking for a peaceful night’s sleep, avoid this place.

Hidden gem
Pros:

The Railway by Innkeeper's Collection is a hidden gem. A number of us booked due to a local funeral and the staff were exceptionally kind and considerate.

A special mention to the friendly and hard working housekeeping staff, who stopped to chat and helped me out when I was running late. Their kindness went a long way at a difficult time.

The pub below was a great place to have breakfast and we also had a fabulous Sunday lunch there. It was a great place to chat and meet people, as it's a local pub for a lot of people.

The location is great and it's next to a metro station with lots of parks in the vicinity.

But it's the staff that truly make this place, from the bar staff and the housekeeping. Everyone was just soo kind and helpful.

The staff were amazing here. Helpful friendly really went above and beyond to provide amazing service!!
The room was lovely, warm cozy. Food was good. Really excellent value for money and right next to the station. Super convenient

Cons:

The TVs screens were slightly small to watch the football but they had it on so happy with that.

The staff in the evening appeared to not have key hotel information to hand. There was a fair bit of confusion caused at multiple points during the stay, including payments, breakfast options, and no notice of very loud live music during our stay…
