Advertised as a 3-star hotel — an experience I wouldn't wish on anyone! Avoid this place!

Our experience was alarming enough that we decided not to check in. We dodged a bullet by walking away and immediately requesting a refund through the booking platform.
This property was advertised as a 3-star hotel, but what we encountered was nowhere near what you would reasonably expect from such accommodation. The Google reviews raised serious questions, too. We noticed a cluster of reviews posted within the past few days, including multiple reviews on the same day, which made us question how reliable the ratings were. The photos on accommodation booking websites also appeared completely inconsistent with what we encountered in person.
Our two-minute experience told us everything we needed to know. The hotel was dingy, and the entrance was through another equally old, run-down establishment. The surroundings felt extremely shady and unwelcoming — the sort of place that makes you instinctively want to turn around and leave. It certainly did not inspire the confidence you would expect from a property advertised as 3-star accommodation.
The corridors had a strong, foul smell. The receptionist showed us the actual room that would have been allocated to us, and it had virtually no natural light or apparent ventilation. The room and surrounding environment fell so far short of our expectations that we decided it simply wasn't worth the risk of staying there.
To be fair, the one positive was the man behind the shabby reception desk. He took the time to attend to us, showed us the room, and was considerate enough to ask whether we wanted to proceed with check-in rather than pressure us into staying. His courtesy was the only redeeming aspect of the entire experience.
We told him we would come back, walked away, and never looked back. We then requested a refund through the booking website rather than risk spending even one night there.

For a moderate priced hotel, you will find everything needed. Affordable, mid range hotel. Very convenient overall.
Pros:

Very good staff. Helpful, prompt with services, very good homely food, and hygenic. Having a restaurant inside the hotel was very convenient. The temple was very close by. Well maintained building.
